Summary Of New Tests Ideas > Fix Conflict

Fix Conflict

Initiation - 7Blade
I thought this was so so, though a little silly, glad I didnt have to play it too often.

Tug/Telepathy
Only test to have any real benefit and therefore most gamed test(though a majority of the gaming occured in the old rank system). On the test, extremely easy to play and become decent at, still has strategies, though there is alot of luck. Game is quick to play which is good as well. Overall I would not change anything.

RoC
As it is too random, you should be able to pick if your going first. Also limited deck building. give 10 weapons and 10 people (those full sets are random for each game). then each playe chooses 4 of each for their "play deck". granted there is randomness but a little more contained, with strategy involved. With that change I would really dig RoC. as is, I avoid RoC

Hekets Rake
Excellent game. The only change I would consider is making it like other games (2 wins to win a set). Tha way you would have to win going both first and second. but other than that excellent game.

Witagog
Takes a while to learn, can take some time.. like the different courts at different levels idea (add in rank 4 and rank 5 courts). Actually dont have any thing I would change.. i'll leave that for others.

Zhadu
Again, think it worked out well. Timer made things a little weird.. You could create a stalemate situation and use the clock to win. Recently I have been using that you have to have a full minute on the clock in a stalemate situation, which might be an alternative. A good game, but is it too easy to stalemate?

King's Convoy
O.K. lots of issues to make the game try and work.. I would try to have the king not move the full board?. Timers are a decent addition, but pushes the game into easy stalemates or quick click game. See Zhadu for more on timers. All in all this game takes a long time and that is the big downside to it.

Reflection
7th test, for me has poor graphics, need to accomidate lesser graphics cards. Triangles crossing or not is an issue as well as where the "bubble" is when its in a "plane". One option would be two-fold. First grpahically make the triangles as thin as possible, second allow 'sites' you can connect 2 dots and make a line to see if it crosses or does not.

Final comments. In the new system, have all games 2 games=1 set. 1 set = 1 rank (this isnt all that important, but consitancy would be nice). Even if you reset it records your highest rank for level advancement purposes. Loss = loss in rank, not full restart. After X losses you can no longer play unless you restart and wait a couple days (like now)
Also release all games right at the start.

Notes on Weppy:
Creation of Weppy, Im up for ideas on this one, I was thinking that at the start Weppy arenas would be natural and at various crossroads all over, as people got to X level (Journeyman) they could carry a "pocket weppy" with them. Also each level people got they could make 1 Weppy anywhere.

Make it cheap, or portable or make the games themselves portable, though thats would be harder. In weppy, increase the size and improve the layout, more tounery style set ups, make it more than enough courts even at the busiest. Allow people in Weppy to just teleport to any of the game "arenas". This could have been done soo much more friendly.

Records
All players Current ranks can be seen at a UoC or SoC, also recorded is a list of all players that person beat and at what rank they beat them.

Rewards
All games get rewards, rewards are useful but not mandated. E.G. Mastery of KC would make it so your ferry could go twice the distance. Hekets Rake - when you pick a shroom you get 2 instead of 1. Telepathy (everyone can dowse at 50') but Telepathy gives you an extra 100-300' radius, which you can control. Witagog - you gain the ability to move any building you own at any time (great for camp re-arrangement). ect ect. These are off the hip ideas of reward types and should be thought out and solidified.

Devs hold occasional tournements with dev provided items for winners.
