ATitD3

This is a transcript of the chat held on Sunday, Jan. 8th.

Pharaoh: Ok, it's 1:00.
Pharaoh: Ok, welcome all.
Pharaoh: As I mentioned in the newsletter, I have some big changes contemplated for A Tale in the Desert III.
Pharaoh: One request - I've been told that logging to atitd.net isn't working for this moderated chat...
Pharaoh: If there is someone who could periodically /copy this channel and edit it in a text editor that
would be very helpful. I don't have time to ficx the logging-of-moderated-chats bug right now.
Pharaoh: Ok, so let's start with the biggest change.
Pharaoh: I'm considering replacing the Conflict Discipline with an entirely new Discipline.
Pharaoh: I find Conflict a very noble Discipline, because as a *player* you really have to have a certain
toughness to persue something where half the tim (on average) you get told "you lose"
Pharaoh: Furthermore, I think Conflict's scoring system is really good. With so little participation it's
 susceptible to gaming of course...
Pharaoh: But the times we've done tournaments in Wepwawet, or even in Egypt, we've had fantastic turnouts,
and I think that the Discipline has had plenty of memorable moments in the last two Tales.
Pharaoh: In ATITD 1, one of my favorite memories was that the Oracles, Sages, and other high-ranking Conflict
disciples laid out strict rules (for high-ranking participation in their monument...
Pharaoh: They acted to preserve the purity of the Discipline, and the fact that that monument in it's pure
form will stand throughout every future Tale says a lot about that group.
Pharaoh: Anyway, I've now had a few years to think about why Conflict is the least popular Discipline...
Pharaoh: And I think that for all but a few people, being told "you lose" just isn't much fun. Not for
 everyone of course...
Pharaoh: I love treally hard challenges, even if it means being told "you lose, try again." And I know
there are people here who do to.
Kalar: if you do get rid of it, will we still be able to play the games for fun next telling?
Pharaoh: Not just for fun...
Pharaoh: Events, even ones where we just get together to chat, are hugely popular.
Pharaoh: Right now there are 225 people listening to this channel!
Pharaoh: And so a major push in ATITD 3 will be events that can be re-run, in different ways.
Pharaoh: You've seen a couple of these - the Mutton Festival, the Phoenix Race, and the Snowstorms were
all created as re-runnable events.
Pharaoh: And so each of the Conflict Tests works as a type of event.
Pharaoh: In fact, the Conflict ranking system - with a few tweeks - works as a way to score such events.
Nathea: will re-running reset the points, that the event had given? ore are these re-runnings
 gimmicks - in good terms - ?
Pharaoh: Yeah, that's one of the tweeks I'km talking about. The act of starting the event would reset
the scores, and at the end prizes would be awarded based on ranks.
ShanVizen: How often will such events be run? Will there be a regular schedule?
Pharaoh: Well, let me show everyone something that I've been working on. One sec...
Pharaoh: Everyone should now have an option under "Utility" that says "Show the Calendar"
Clintonio: Awsome
Mabe: AWESOME!
Maiden: oo nice idea
Cappu: nice :-D
Kaotika: NICE.
MAMTeles: wohooo!
Pharaoh: GMs have a tool to translate events in this list.
Pharaoh: It respects time zones.
Teao: nice! what are the icons?
Pharaoh: The "T" means Test-related.
Pharaoh: The "C" means a chat event like this one.
Pharaoh: And "e" means an official eGenesis sponsored event.
Pharaoh: There's also a "p" for player-run events.
Pharaoh: (If you previously closed it, you should now be able to re-open it.)
Jodpar: so we will have a way to get our own events into the calander then
Pharaoh: Yes, probably some varient of the current chariot-stop method. Obviously there needs
to be a way to determine the few "most important" player run events, or else it will just be a big block of spam.
Maiden: are you keeping this for remainder of T2?
Pharaoh: No, still work to do on it to hook in all Tests and event controllers.
Pharaoh: This is just data that I hand-inserted into it.
Telanoc: Can it show more then one day at a time? Like today and tomorrow?
Pharaoh: Not yet, but it will.
Sabt-Pestnu: How far in advance?
Pharaoh: No set limit.
Nathea: will there be a systematic, what will be an "event" and what not? a small stone-dig
 - will that be such a noteable date ?
Pharaoh: Perhaps the cost to post to this is somehow related to how long your event is to
stay posted. Maybe an hour would be cheap, but three days would be expensive.
tripps: Will things like the Test of Towers schedule appear on the calendar?
Pharaoh: Yes
Isandre: Can you set up your time zone so the times display correctly?
Pharaoh: I can; you can't (yet).
Kaotika: Is cost based time really the best plan? The chariot notices havn't been utilised at
all, or at least only by the extreme minority. Perhaps some kind of system by which events are
'okay'd' by the GM/Events team and then put up
Pharaoh: That's true, and I'm open to ideas. Test rewards perhaps? Petition based? Lots of ways
 to do it.
Lindie: Can you make the calendar Hotkey activated instead of using the utility menu
Pharaoh: Yes, or maybe one of those action icons in the top right. I want it to be very accessible.
ShanVizen: Might sound odd, but how about setting a few people as "Events commitee"? Maybe a
periodical ballot to choose a few people that will approve events?
Pharaoh: This is possible too. The system is really flexible, the only concern is that it be
a list of high-quality things to do. If it had 5-10 items on it for "today", that feels about
right I think.
BorisKarloff: or have limited posts as a tradeable commodity
Rossoh: the popularity of previous events (yes no votes from participants) could entitle higher
levels of posting and allow people to filter the level
pr0phet: i think cost based is the best idea yet
Amenohtep: Yeah, make it part of a leadership test reward
Lisimba: GM moderated sounds best, it should be easy to put an event up.
Orashin: Maybe a little premature to ask this based on the topic, but what about what's
going to replace conflict?
Pharaoh: Ok, yes, this is what I'd like to discuss now.
Pharaoh: The new Discipline I have planned is titled "Harmony", as in Social Harmony...
Pharaoh: It revolves around all those things that cause a society to function efficiently.
Pharaoh: There are people in ATITD who are good citizens, who are the "glue" of the game,
yet they are not really recognized with a Discipline.
Amenohtep: How does this differ from the Leadership Discipline?
Pharaoh: Leadership is about manipulating others. That word has a negative connotation,
and I don't mean it that way.
Pharaoh: Let me give you outlines of some of the Tests in Harmony.
Teao: Its the Faceankh discipline!
Pharaoh: One would be based on the artwork judging that many people now do, but are
 not recognized for it.
Pharaoh: Another would be related to voting participation.
Pharaoh: The three marriage-related Tests discussed in our chat from a few months back
would be in Harmony: The new Test of Marriage (where your score is a sum of the Tests
passed by both you and your spouse)...
Pharaoh: The one based on predicting the future success of other players...
Pharaoh: And the one based on predicting the success of marriages.
Clintonio: Ohh this discipline seems dependant on other tests quite heavily
Japto: Would Mentorship be moved into Harmony? It sounds like it might fit there.
Pharaoh: Yes, that's the 7th Test of Harmony in fact.
Pharaoh: What I'm going to describe now isn't set in stone - not sure how this will sit...
Pharaoh: I'd like to reduce Mentorship to requiring just 3 shrines, but...
Pharaoh: The Test of Mentorship in the Discipline of Harmony would not be released for
2 months into the Tale. All 6 other Harmony Tests would be released on day 1.
Pharaoh: Only new players coming in to the game after the Test of Mentorship is released
would be able to build a mentor shrine.
FlyingHigh: why the wait?
Pharaoh: An odd thing happens at the start of a Tale...
Pharaoh: People who are well known from the previous Tale collect a bunch of shrines
from their friends, and this number overwhelms those mentors who are (for example) on
the Islands *right now*, doing the really hard job.
sky40: This seems like an excellent plan to reduce gaming of a serious task.
Miu: true
AmosRa: Not all wants to get married...what is your thought about that?
Clintonio: Lots of players sign up and people giev away shrines eaily
Maiden: why 2 months, not just a few weeks?
Teawein: the mentoring system was better in Tale 1
Clintonio: The older members game without even really doing it intentionally
TheDude: excellent idea
Beccaj: I think I would be great also if you have not option to build mentorship
 shrines for your self
sky40: I agree Beccaj
AndreiII: lol @ Beccaj
Al-Timmeh: Would the players who begin in the first 2 months not have the
 ability to build a shrine?
Pharaoh: That's correct, Al-Timmeh...
Pharaoh: Maybe a good way to time it would be like this:
Pharaoh: At the start of Tale 1 and Tale 2, we didn't have the Islands...
Pharaoh: New players would get plopped in Egypt near an "active" mentor Banner.
Pharaoh: And this actually worked when people were all fairly concentrated, and
the city hubs were busy.
Pharaoh: So maybe after things feel like they're slowing a bit - people have started
to spread out, the avalanch of new players has slowed...
Pharaoh: Then we post an event on the calendar saying "mentoring starts Wednesday",
the Test of Mentorship opens, and the Islands are activated in one fell swoop.
Cappu: I like it :)
MomMouse: hmm that might make it a bit hard to get mentors the first few weeks tho
sky40: So older players would not have to go throught the island again?
Miar: so what happens to new players before then?
Pharaoh: Yeah, so the question of what happens to someone who just hears of ATITD
and it happens to be one week after the release of Tale 3.
Pharaoh: I can only guess here, since we've never tried this exact configuration of course...
Pharaoh: Is that it's a time when there's a real struggle to grow powerful guilds...
Pharaoh: And I don't have to tell veteran players that having many friends is the
key to success in ATITD...
Pharaoh: So even though there's not mentor shrine reward at that time, there's the
"reward" of having people to add to your guild / group of friends / supporters.
Pharaoh: (And, people who enter the game early are about 2x more likely to stay then
those who enter late - 13.0% vs. about 6.8%.)
Pharaoh: Does that make sense?
sky40: But we all mentor without expecting shrines most times....
MomMouse: and i know many ppl that are waiting for t3 to start to "try" the game
Kerria: I am with mom, that rush on the island is hard on mentors.
sky40: Can't people be good enough to help without the lure of a shrine?
Amenohtep: Would it be possible to have the Welcoming Islands, but say, have the
welcome banner instantly transport those to the mainland at least till the Test opens?
pr0phet: what about a voluntary flag like noiw (mentees can warp to me for help)
Jessec89: Sounds good
Maiden: 13%?!
Maiden: yes
Sita: yes it is very hard for folks who ojoin latae.
Clintonio: Yes. Thats also true
Clintonio: I am waiting for T3 to finnaly rejoin wooo
Cerys: but mentor shrines aren't really the issue, it is that some new players
find it hard to find support, especially when everyone is busy setting things up
Miu: sure it make sense, cause the ones that enter earlier are often veterans
blondie: some people are really not mentor material
Divinity: I gave up on shrine's a long time ago though I do mentor still
Jaleho: interesting that you mention many friends as the key to success in ATITD..
as someone who played in tale 1 and tale 2 on and off again, I could never figure
out what success was... on the island it was "get off the island"... past that,
the benchmarks and goals got fuzzier and fuzzier.
sky40: Yes I was one who joined late....it is hard...but with friends stuck it out....
kap0w: i dont think there will be a real shortage of mentors who will help early
and often for free
Pharaoh: Ok, next major change...
Pharaoh: To a new player this will sound major. Veterans will soon figure out that
it sounds like more of a change than it is:
Pharaoh: You'll have a "Level", and it will be displayed prominently, as in "Bellah,
 Level 25 Sage of Worship"
Ankh-El-Pandemis: You gotta be kidding ?
Pharaoh: Ok, so here's the observation:
Pharaoh: People play ATITD like crack addicts, right through citizenship.
Pharaoh: Citizenship takes about 6 hours typiically, and 50% of those who successfully
log in, complete it.
Pharaoh: So 50%+ of everyone who comes here plays for 6+ hours, and often in a
 single sitting.
Pharaoh: And I think it's because you have a nice clear goal layed out. There are
different paths to getting there, and you can do stuff in any order...
Pharaoh: But very few people fail to realize that "Become Citizen" is what you
should do first.
Pharaoh: Then everything changes.
Pharaoh: Suddenly there are a million things that you could do, and no real
indication of which to do, or why.
Pharaoh: And predictably, we lose a *ton* of people at that stage.
Pharaoh: In any other RPG, "Increase my Level" is the obvious goal. Anyone that has played another RPG knows this.
Pharaoh: So what if we said your "Level" is the number of Tests that you have "participated" in.
Pharaoh: Or more precisely...
Pharaoh: Make each Test have an early, easy-to-attain goal.
Pharaoh: Some examples:
Pharaoh: Test of the Obelisk: Build a 21+ cubit Obelisk.
Pharaoh: Test of Towers: Capture 2% of Egypt.
Pharaoh: Test of Khefre's Childres Exhibit a Beetle
Pharaoh: test of the Singing Ciccada: Get 300 Points
Pharaoh: All would be fixed goals.
Pharaoh: Attaining the fixed goal doesn't mean that you've passed the Test.
Pharaoh: Ok, so how do the levels get uised?
Pharaoh: Certain skills, Test signups, even events, would require a certain minimum level.
Pharaoh: And not a real high level...
Pharaoh: (For most).
Pharaoh: The whole idea is to provide some direction for those that need it.
Pharaoh: And for those that want to play ATITD as it's played now - with self-directed goals - make sure
the system doesn't get in the way too much.
TheDude: i dig the short term goals though. ATITD is pretty heavy on the longterm goals
Miu: attaining all tests would not take a lot of time, what after max leveling this way?
Pharaoh: My hope is that by the time you reach level 49, you say "Hey, my beetles are actually
*good* - I'm gonna try to pass that Test!"
Pharaoh: Or "Wow, I captured 12% of Egypt in the Test of Towers - that wasn't so hard."
Dria: do people get levels for actually passing the tests, as well?
Pharaoh: Undecided, but I think not. I want the focus to change from maxing your level to mastering
one or more Disciplines.
Pharaoh: Let me spam some accumulated comments...
Haqiqa: limiting test signups to those with minimum levels doesn't sound like a good idea in a game
with limited numbers of players online...
Esme: Some of the noobies get very disappointed that they do these neat projects like visit landmarks,
meet oracles, etc and that there arent always rewards for those. I think it would encourage noobs if
they got an emote or small reward for all of those great tasks. They are a good idea but newcomers
 need a reward for them . :)
AJFallen: I think that the Level display will turn off older players and intimidate new players mid-late telling
ShanVizen: Personally, the only test I passed since starting the game was Test of Focus, and that's because I like
 the puzzles.
Uluric: Speaking as a person who passed Citizenship, then lost focus I found the problem to be that there was
too much to do, and no guidance on what 'path' I would find both useful and personally interesting. Discreet
goals like the one you described would do a lot to help me focus.
Rossoh: As a newcomer leaving for the reasons you gave, I say it won't help. Instead, allow guilds and communities
to set small focussed tests that can be taken up by individuals. let the community give them focus
greaterd: implemnthing this I think would be the best thing that could be done to this game to have a larger player base
AzuKia: Isn't that what guilds and Mentors are to do though? Guide the young Egyptian?
Zatarg: Making certain levels for Test signups sounds limiting, if persay you only want to do a few...
Hogan: I think this is a great idea -- and I don't think it is about direction... I think it is about feeling
with something tanagable that you have acchieved something at every session... if you can make it so playing
atitd has that you will have a much better game.
Lindie: What about linking levels to offline chores, 5 levels = wood 10 levels = cabbage 15 = barley 20 = slate
Ledeanna: I have no problem as long as I can continue playing as I alway have since tale 1 that is my biggest concern
sky40: I agree with TheDude to the point I've given up trying tests since I came late....just play for fun...
SoHann: if you dabble in all tests you may never got to that place though
Cappu: I think it is a great idea. My complements :)
AmosRa: Will there be 7 seperate level tree's ( one for each disipline ) or will there be one level.
Valara: what about Journeyman of three? what would his level be based on? total of the 3 or highest, average?
Teao: Will the thought and art mini tasks involve judging?
MomMouse: also in trying to gain a lvl some ppl might actually decide the tes or even disaplineis fun and/or
 appealing to them
Kylian: How do you participate in some tests ? such as the Test of the Singing Cicada , I mean only 1 person
 can pick it up.
Ankh-El-Pandemis: How would it make things easier and less confusing at first sight for a day 1 player to look
that he has to build a 12 size obelisk or a 200, if he has no clue abotu the tools that he has at his disposal
to accomplish his work ?
RedOmen: Does gaining a level give you anything besides a higher number by your name?
DisShovel: I think it is a good idea and will prolong the stay of many new players.. although it does not address
the underlying issue that the game is self is very different from the game presented to newibies on the island
SoHann: so other than being allowed to get into certain tests < the lever really does not do anything for you
Dria: Mid-level goals are a great idea
Lisimba: In most mmorpgs a new level gets you new stuff, and that's the fun part about it - level up and you can
get new weapons, armor, tools, areas, and so on. The actual level isn't that fun. Will levels here get us anything?
AJFallen: If the level was displayed in the player info rather than with the person's name it would be better.
Pharaoh: Lindie's idea is good.
Kinjiro: The level idea is great. if I may add my opinion, the problem is "lack of performance support" more
than indicating goals.
Zatarg: Agrees with AJ
Ouijdani: I play ATITD because it is different than "most MMOGs" -- I hope it stays different
Katma: will the price go down?
Sabuli: the central idea of RPG if that wnen you do something a lot of times, you do it better. i miss that
in atitd. You are not a better acro treacher after a lot of facets taught, for example
Katma: for membership?
Telanoc: In that respect, have you given any consideration to evening out the rewards for the various disciplines?
Body gets a lot of participation because there are concrete rewards, Though less so be there are effectively
no rewards other then passing the test
Zatarg: What about changing the 'level' title to 'Understanding'?
sky40: yes
Valara: yes. like Lindie!
Tanna: Oh ya, that's a great idea
Ledeanna: I just don't want to be Dictated by Levels
Sobe: can we come up with a differnt word then level? the word level doesnt seem to fit the
 egyptian life style
Pharaoh: I want to use "Level" precisely because it's something that every RPG player is familiar
with. Use it as a bridge to get them into ATITD's style of gameplay.
AmosRa: Level is what playes thrive for... calling it by any other name would be lost on most
 newbies I think
Jaleho: As it is now, ATITD feels like a TOY, not a game. Same with There, or Second Life, or AlphaWorlds.
Pharaoh: Really? I think that because there are big goals, it's a game, where those are what I'd call
 "virtual worlds".
Katma: It can get annoying..people announcing thier levels
Pharaoh: Well, we have a pretty unique culture here. It would not surprise me if announcing your
level became another way of saying "Hey, I'm new here" :)
AmosRa: Sounds like it :)
Erika: Could you state again what problems adding levels and "goals" will address?
Pharaoh: The problem of "not knowing what to do" after becoming a Citizen.
Miu: sure it is a game and not a virtual world like second life and others, it is a special game,
different from all other online RPGs, if you want to brint it closer to stardard MMORPGs players,
why not make it persistend instead of telling based? think thats a hard thing to accept for new
players, harder as not having levels
DrakPast: I like it
Robare: it doesn't solve problems, adds direction to players
Pharaoh: Right.
Pharaoh: Ok, so those are the big things.
Pharaoh: Some other items that I'm working on now for Tale 3:
Pharaoh: The new Mining was the biggest disaster in ATITD 2.
Pharaoh: So I've totally scrapped that.
Haqiqa: hear hear
Maiden: I like it (Zatarg)
Madwife: you said it :)
Sheogorad: disaster ? i like it :)
Valara: amen
Lejoni: YAY!
Amenohtep: Thank you
Madwife: wooo!
Panyea: tyvm for that
Pharaoh: Tale 1 had a *frantic* pace early on, and we burned out a ton of players...
Pharaoh: Tale 2 had a ponderous pace early on, and we lost many to boredom.
Pharaoh: I don't think there's any middle ground, so I am planning for a frantic pace once again.
I'll warn people this time :)
Zatarg: I've read a few reviews on websites, the throw everything in idea you had i think has merits
Clubbers: Wohoo! yes!
Amuniet: release research all at once and let us determine the pace? :)
Benisotous: I prefer getting burned then getting Bored :)
Teao: Yay frantic
ShanVizen: Regarding the new mining system- are there any design notes worth sharing/
TheDude: i LOVE the frantic pace! :)
Erika: It would be nice to have a telling last a year or less
Pharaoh: One other thing I'm not going to do this Tale is make predictions :/
Pharaoh: I'm an OK game designer, but as it turns out, a very poor psychic.
Miu: u are the best
Zatarg: Your a brilliant game designer, we all pay dont we?
Teao: project management is being a psychic :P
TheDude: its easier to get overwhelmed, and avoid the franticness. than to deal with a total lack
of franticness. the rush came to a grinding halt all of a sudden about... 45-60 days in and caused
a bit of a mini exodus among personal friends
Clintonio: LOL. True. I dont think ANY of us are psychic
Anyolina: Are some tests still going to be hard to complete? like Darkest Night?
Pharaoh: Yes
Pharaoh: Ok, another thing that I just completed is a new Intro test of Thought...
Pharaoh: Set's Ladder is History. It's called 'Thoth's Puzzle", and the inspiration is a game at carnivals:
Pharaoh: Have you ever played "Spot the Spot" ?
Pharaoh: There's a big red spot on a table...
Pharaoh: And the drug addict running the game hands you five metal disks, and you try to cover
the spot wby dropping the disks. You can get really close to the table - it's not about dexterity.
Pharaoh: Well, it's not that, but it's inspired by that.
Clintonio: Ahh I see a co ordination and planning gamr
Pharaoh: I'll try to describe it a bit more:
Pharaoh: Imagine a stone table with a light source underneath.
Pharaoh: And you poke some holes in the table so that light shines through the holes.
Pharaoh: Sort of like a lite-brite.
Pharaoh: And then you get a few (maybe 3-7) metal plates in different shapes - maybe a triangle,
 a pacman-shaped disc, a an elbow, and a diamond.
Pharaoh: And you can move them around on the table as much as you want.
Pharaoh: All you have to do is cover the holes so that no light shines up thru.
Pharaoh: The designer says what the shapes are, and where the holes go. The player slides and
rotates the pieces to try to cover them all.
Pharaoh: ("Designer" is the person trying to get into the Thought Discipline.)
Haqiqa: sounds cool, and much more interesting to play than set's ladder
Lejoni: Geometry! I love it!
Pharaoh: Yeah, a geometry puzzle.
Teao: will it be limited pass like all other thought tests?
Pharaoh: I don't know. Maybe something like Sculpture is now.
Pharaoh: I thought at first that al puzzles would be really easy, but it turns out that simple
 puzzles can be deceptively hard.
isjha: The sculpture ability is great, will tale 3 expand on that (like mid-level: use more
 building blocks)?
Pharaoh: Considering making Sculpture an actual test. I have a new Intro test of Art designed,
but it's looking like a ton of code, so that may be a Tale 4 thing.
Zapster: will judging of art and puzzles be using the new method (like veneries) next telling?
Pharaoh: Yes, all Thought and Art use the PeerReview system. So far that is working beautifully.
isjha: will the landscape be more divers in tale3?
Pharaoh: Otter is building many new areas.
ShanVizen: Might sound petty, but will it be as expansive as Set's Ladder? (this question can be
extended to the rest of the Thought puzzles, btw)
Pharaoh: Haven't set the costs yet. Probably much cheaper.
AndreiII: can i report a bug ? i travel using chariots using TT and i end up sumwhere else, not
on a chariot stop. i end like 30-50 coords from the CS
Clintonio: Hmmm I an intriuged by this. Can wait to see it
Rekhmira: As a noob I was disappointed to find that "Thought" required WEALTH before even getting
a chance to try. Will it be the same again?
Clintonio: An intuition shouldn't be limited IMO thats a bit harsh on the newbiesLD
Teao: how much control over ths disks will the designer get? can they be scaled?
Pharaoh: Right now it's a stock set of shapes. For the Intro Test that's how I plan to keep it.
In some future Tale it could be exapanded to allow editable shapes, but I decided that was too
overwhelming for an intro test.
Teao: can someone explain the new venery test method for those of us being "welcomed back"?
Pharaoh: A lot to explain. Does anyone have a Wiki link?
Valara: I love the work otter does! she is fantastic!
Agrid: any word on when Tale 3 starts?
Pharaoh: See the Psychic comment above :)
Shannestrin: I have a concern about peer review - if one doesn't put a scuplture directly in
a town (thus increasing the number of sculptures in town and increasing lag), it's very hard
to get any votes, either good or bad.
Pharaoh: PeerReview functions well with as few as 7 judges.
Clintonio: Will T3 graphics be MUCH improved?
Pharaoh: Same engine, experimenting with some stuff. We'll see.
FaceAnkh: http://wiki.atitd.net/tale2/The_Test_Of_The_Venery/Judging for the peer review talk log
SunnyOne: One problem I see with the peer review system is that the owner can't see the score.
There have been tests that when I saw the score, I knew that it wasn't good enough and I redesigned
it. With this new system I have no idea if it's ever going to make it.
Pharaoh: That's true, but maybe just looking at ones that did pass would help in that case?
Pharaoh: Ok, I think that does it for today. Turnout was amazing, and I'm sorry to say that for the
first time in one of these chats, I was unable to even *read* all the comments. So I'm sure I
 inadvertantly skipped some good ones.
TheDude: you cant do enough chats like this :) its great. god discussion. lots of old friends to
talk to. having a say in game design. no negatives :)
Clintonio: Well I hope to see all in TALE 3 WOOO
Cronar: is there going to be anothe chat day/
Pharaoh: Yes, absolutely. These are a really nice chance to discuss all the code, make sure
I'm doing stuff that everyone is looking forward to.
Cyzra: Where can we enter feedback in case you missed our comment?
Pharaoh: pharaoh@egenesis.com - I do read everything there, and respond to quite a bit.
Kartal: thanks for the chat teppy, i eagley await t3
LadyGrim: will cooking stay the same with maybe some additions like breadmaking, dried fruits etc?
Pharaoh: No major changes to cooking planned.
Promiscuous: Are the compounds coming back for T3?
Pharaoh: Yes.
Miu: will ATITD ever bee a persistent game instead of tales based?
Pharaoh: No
Mabe: Travel improvements?
Pharaoh: Yes, one little change at least: Free, unlimited teleport to your spouse.
Arquebus: Will there be prepaid packages with bonuses agin for T3?
Pharaoh: Yes
Japto: Woo!
Tedra: yes!
sky40: Thanks for the chat, made me want to comeback
Razak: Will you marry me teppy?
Drakkett: Polygamy? :P
Agrid: new clothes?
Pharaoh: New avatars, yes.
Clintonio: I AM coming back now. If it comes bck after march I will be able to sign up IMMEDIATLY :D
sky40: hurray
Khadrix: nice
Pharaoh: Thanks all, Pharaoh out!
