Bastetball

Bastetball is a game first introduced to Egypt on 02/05/2006 by Pharaoh as an experiment and in honor of the American Super Bowl, which occurred that same day. It is comparable to the real life game of football played in the USA (or soccer in Europe). Unlike other games in Egypt it is not related to any tests or event. It’s simply a fun sport to play.

Bastetball is played on a small court. Thus far all courts have been rectangular. The court consists of a tiled play area with two “endzones” or “goals” at each end, one for each team. The two teams are called “Jackals” and “Cats”, these are the same team names used for Takeskot. Each team has 3 players

The goal of the game is for each team to move the “balls” (actually small pyramids 14-block pyramids) into that teams “endzone”.

Moving the balls is done by “hiking” it with the F2 key. You may hike the ball over any another player, including opponents. This is similar to jumping opponent’s pieces in checkers, only you must be between the ball and the player you are jumping over.

Ball > You > Other Player > Ball lands here

A player cannot hike the same ball more then once consecutively. So team members must take turns hiking the same ball over one another or their opponents.
