I think this is a great idea but I'm not sure how we could make it into a tournament. If we choose the best ranked 2 or 3 (say) players of each game, there's not much chance that they'd all be online at the same time for a challenge tournament.
I was thinking that we just throw down a challenge to the people of Egypt (on a mic or two) offering prizes for anyone who can beat a 'Master' at their chosen game. The Masters then tour Egypt for a set period of time playing all comers, anyone can challenge him/her and we keep a log of anyone who wins a game.
Of course, this depends on the participants being available to play their chosen game at will (easier for games like Tug, which don't take long).
We'd also need to get a list of people willing to play each game.
Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?
I guess you're right about trying to get all the master's together for a tournament. I think I actually prefer the idea of the roving tour. In addition to the highest ranked players of each game, the Masters (and/or Sages soon, I suspect) could be challenged to play games that they are not necessarily the highest ranked in. I'm pretty sure that I won't be highest ranked in anything pretty soon but I would still enjoy playing most of the games - especially if it generates interest in Conflict. ~Z
