Egypt Hash Hash Harriers
I, Zintwana Welcome you to 'Egypt Hash Hash Harriers' !
The aim of this guild is to organise and support the creation of a Regular Egyptian Hash Hash Harrier Race Meet.
What is a Hash Hash Harrier Race?
The Hash Hash Harriers or Hash House Harriers as they are more commonly known, are a set of Real World running clubs which are especially popular in the Middle East where their teams, mainly made up ex-patriots run in grueling desert areas following chalk trails laid down in advance with a few false leads and dead ends thrown in to confuse!
There is usualy no big prize for the winner as it is done more for a social get together than anything else. As such, traditionaly the meetings end in a good old knees up with copious amounts of alcohol consumed (in countries where it is legal to do so!)
In ATITD I intend to recreate this experience by running a set of Hash hash Harrier styled races.
How it works
- Each player interested in taking part in a race or in helping organise it should apply to the Guild Hall located by RSO University of Body.
- A list of race dates will be listed here.
- All those interested in racing should add their name to the list of participants against each date they can do.
- A Race will be declared valid once 10 people sign up.
- On or just before race day a set of small chests for each player will be set up in several secret locations around the course. Each chest will have 2 things - a set of co-ordinates as it's description AND a player specific secret item.
- On Race day a long duration High Dex/Spd food will be provided to all runners to level the playing field.
- The co-ordinates of the first chest cluster will be given to the players and the race will begin.
- On reaching each chest cluster a player MUST take the secret item from their chest, note down the co-ordinates AND transfer ownership back to Egypt Hash Hash Harriers (important!).
- Once this is done they should run to the set of co-ordinates given to find the next cluster.
- The last cluster will have a label of the final co-ordinates and a note to say that this is the finish line.
- It then becomes a race to the finish!
- Each player will have drop chests at the finish line to drop their items. These should be transferred to the ownership of whoever is the race adjudicator at the time so that they can be checked against the adjudicator's list to insure each player has visited each of their chests (and therefore not cheated!).
- Occasionally a chest may have more than one set of co-ordinates, with one giving the correct trail, and one giving a false trail! This is to make things a little more interesting!
- At the winning line the winner will recieve a small prize and then the festivities begin with wine, beer and some yokir!
Thanks go to Psychodelica who helped me formulate several aspects of this whole idea - invaluable :-)
