IRC

The official ATITD IRC channel is: #ATITD on irc.sorcery.net. The backup ATITD IRC channel is: #ATITD on irc.stratics.com.

The conversation is generally very casual, and always very welcoming to new players, and those new to IRC. There are usually between 50 and 90 people in the room 24/7. Come on in and get your ATITD fix when you cant play, and stay in touch with all of Egypt when you do play!

A great web based IRC client is: Knightmare's 1337 IRC applet. ATITD.net also has a web-based client at http://www.atitd.net/pjirc/index.html.

You may also want to look at mIRC (Windows) or XChat (Linux) for standalone programs.

Rules

There are also a couple of "unofficial" channel rules.

  1. Never Believe Anything Devalin Says.
  2. When Devalin does tell the truth, it's totally worthless. Example: "<Devalin> i told u the new tech would need boards"

Bot policy

Bots are okay, but are not exempt from the above rules. If you have a unique and useful bot that needs exemption to these rules, please contact an operator.

Channel operator policy. The channel operators are all egenesis staff, Game Masters, or longtime players. its our stated mission to keep the channel a nice place, safe from spammers, and trolls. We make every effort to have an open policy, and always welcome feedback.

Channel operators are expected to follow the guidelines listed below:

Dealing with problematic users First warning: ask them politely in a private message Second warning: kick the user from the channel with a clear kick message Third warning: a default 24 hour "cooling off" ban Consistently problematic users will receive a permanent ban. this can only be lifted by egenesis staff
