Mines

Welcome to the Egyptian Mining Cooperative !! Fast in-game way (/info emc) to get your favourite mines location !

!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!

Always park your ore carts inside the compounds or designated parking area and don't crowd the area with chests, bonfires, and private carts ... Be grateful to the owners of those mines who are nice-hearted enough to set them public ... If you don't, they'll end up as other by closing those mines.

The guide

Pure metal

Throw 25 stones in an Ore cart, and fire them in a Craft furnace. You get 85% of the total number of clusters present in your 25 ores.

Steel

Throw 22 stones with Iron, Tin and Zinc in an Ore cart, make sure that Iron clusters > Tin clusters > Zinc clusters, and fire them in an AF. You get 85% of the total number of Iron, Tin and Zinc clusters present in your 22 ores.

Steel is forgiving, any impurity less present than the Zinc won't be taken into account.

Advice: use the LN mine without even bothering counting clusters. If you are very unlucky, the yield could fail, but that has never been reported so far, for the mine gives Iron>Tin>Zinc. (Actually, this happened to me in one batch on my first trip to this mine - had a large number of Zinc clusters pulled and didn't do a count. I count now. - OldJoe).

Bronze

Throw 22 stones with Copper and Tin in an Ore cart, make sure that Copper clusters > Tin clusters and fire them in an AF. You get 75% of the total number of Copper and Tin clusters present in your cart.

Bronze does not tolerate impurities.

Advice: use the RSO Bronze mine without even bothering counting clusters. If you are very unlucky, the yield could fail, but that has never been reported so far, for the mine gives Copper>Tin.

Brass

Throw 22 stones with Copper and Zinc in an Ore cart, make sure that Copper clusters = Tin clusters + 1 and fire them in an AF. You get 85% of the total number of Copper and Zinc clusters present in your cart.

Brass does not tolerate impurities.

Advice: use the ND mine and pull from lvl 1 and 4 to keep an event count of Copper and Zinc, and add a extra cluster of Copper or two at the end. Or use the RSO mine, pull five rocks before carting them, and then cart groups of rock with an even count of Copper and Zinc. At the end, put an extra cluster of copper or two. You might need to discard some "Cuprite 1" copper Ores. ND mine is faster, because no pull is lost. RSO mine gives slightly better yields.

Fragile Furnace

Allows you to smelt out a metal with two high levels of impurities (any other metal, sand, dirt or limestone). You have to aim that all three elements are in the same proportion (same number of clusters), and have 1 extra cluster of the one that you want. For example, if you want gold, but have gold, copper and dirt, you would aim that (number of Gold clusters) = (Number of Copper clusters + 1) = (Number of dirt clusters + 1).

Your yield will be about 43% of total number of clusters in the cart. Impurities do raise the yield, and the more difference between the three elements, the more this 43% coefficient will drop. It will eventually fall to zero - no yield - if the targetted element exceed 41% in the cart. This is why you want the impurities as high as possible right behind you wanted metal. That explains the single extra cluster - in fact, you drop as much clusters of the wanted metal as possible, and try to raise the impurities the higher possible without exceeding the targetted metal. This is to keep the 43% coefficient and global cluster count high (max yield), and the percentage of the wanted metal low (between 33 and 40%).

The guild

The goal of this guild is to give you the easiest way to get a given metal. You have above the list of public mines and public facilities in cornerstoned compounds. The very best mines of Egypt are listed here. What we call "best" are the ones that have the best metal/time spent output. We think that the most valuable resource of the game is the player's time, thus, we prefer fast cart-filler mines - minimum number of pulls, and no need to count when possible.

Yours, the EMC crew - Kehyll, CardinalTarod, Worldweaver, Kaotika, Beren, Bourbon.
