A discussion of this test is at: http://www.atitd.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7940

This test requires one object to be brought in game : a Monocular. A monocular is made from leather, twine and two lenses. Lenses are made in a glory hole, and have a specific quality. The first lens' quality determines how focused/blurred the image is; and the second one determines how far (zoomed) you can see with the Monocular.

Also, this test requires two features (skills) to be added to the game : Swimming, and Climbing.

The Test of the Trail of Contemplation

The purpose of this test is to discover beautiful landscapes of Egypt. When the test is released, a certain number of Trails of Contemplation are dispersed throughout Egypt. Each Trail is composed of 7 Landscapes Landmarks (LL), each being connected to two others to make a circle.

LL can be seen with a monocular at a distance of approximately 150 coords (150% of the max sight). They can also be spotted with the naked eye from 1 coords apart. A LL consist of one thing amongst a variety of things : a patch of oysters (Water), rare flower (top of mountain), an ancient rock painted (anywhere), etc. For this test to be interesting, it requires a pretty large number of different Landscapes Landmarks.

Once you have located one LL, you can run to it and perform a special action (contemplate) to validate your visit to this LL. From there, you should try to locate the next LL with your monocular, then run to it and start to walk through the Trail of Contemplation. When you have visited all the seven LL, you gain a number of points equal to the numbers of minutes since it was last completed (like cicadas). Also, you receive a Landscape Landmark in your inventory, randomly chosen from those composing the Trail you have just finished and that havent been given by previous walkers.

When you have finished a Trail, you have the option to declare it "extremely beautiful". You will then receive no LL (hence expanding its lifetime).

Once you have collected 7 LL, you can dispose them into a Trail of Contemplation of your own design (the mechanic of number of trail in Egypt/number of LL required to build a trail is the exact same as Cicadas).

The owner of a trail accumulate one point per minute it stands, and when the 7 LL of a Trail have been picked up, it vanishes in the air.

Each day, the 7 people with the more points accumulated gain characteristic, and points are substracted from their total.

When you have reached 7 in the characteristic, you can go to the University of Body. They will then give you a list of specific Landmarks to visit in a certain amount of time. Once you have succesfully run those LL (they come from actual and genuine trails dispersed through Egypt, and their position can therefore vary a lot during a certain period of time), you pass the Test.
