Medium stones are found in the desert and when digging. They have lots of uses.

 Making gravel. 
 Making a Nail Mould.
 Making a Crucible.  
 Making Flystones. 

You smash a Medium Stone with a sledgehammer to reduce it to gravel in several steps. (See gravel for more information.)
