Basically it works like this - people enter sightings whenever they find a mushroom spawn. The location is marked on the map. The larger the marking, the greater the amount of mushrooms found. Over time, the marking begins to fade. This allows you to hopefully see a trend to get an idea of where the mushrooms are heading. There's a very good chance that if you see a sighting reported 1 to 2 days ago, you will be able to find some more nearby. You can click the name of the shroom on the key on the right to see meta data listing average spawn sizes, spawn times, and a picture of what they look like, etc. If you click on the numbers on the key, you can filter the map to only display new sightings for that shroom type or all sightings ever made. You can also hover your mouse over markings on the large map to see the exact coordinates and how long ago it was reported. Click on the marking on the large map to zoom in on the closeup map on the right. You can also click on the closeup map to goto the EgyptQuest page and pan and zoom around the closeup map.
Currently working with TheDude? to update EgyptQuest to show mushroom markings on the closeup map output.
