I'd like to announce a special event that will run for the next two days...
Architects of Egypt, this is your chance to show your skills:
I am looking for the architect that can design the most elegant small compound for my summer home.
As a grand prize, a new microphone. For the next 6 runners up, a special camp decoration, and for the 42 next best, a set of three specimen cases to hold rare and unusual Cut Gem designs.
My summer home should be small and elegant - no more than 24 cells in size.
To enter a Compound in the contest, you should "Open this Compound for Judging" by clicking on the compound itself.
Everyone may participate as a judge.
The furnishings should not factor into judging, but the shape, materials, and color should.
Furthermore, certain new immigrants will have the option of using the design of my eventual home, as their starting design. [A special promotion with a gaming website.]
During the event, once you open a compound for judging, blueprint alterations are not allowed. (But after the event, you can resume work on it.)
A list of the top 49 compounds will be updated once per hour, during the contest.
And will be available at any School of Architecture, starting about one hour from now.
Judging will be done using the PeerReview scoring system (the same one that Venerys use.)
About the Event
The Summer Home event was held during 10/22/05-10/24/05. Various compounds were built throughout Egypt, and people were invited to judge them according to the Venery PeerReview scoring system. Besides the rewards mentioned above, the top seven compounds also received a unique Cornerstone, so that they will decorate Egypt's landscape.
The winner of the event was Seisme; his compound can be found at Cradle of the Sun, 4917 -1853. It may be that this compound will start appearing throughout Egypt as part of the gaming promotion mentioned.
