Quarries, Mines & Foundries

The Sunset Foundry Guild is the Marble, Metals, and Metalworking division of the Sunset Group. We have a full set of metalworking equipment, including the various Furnaces and two Anvils with full sets of tools.

We aim to preserve the appearance of the environment we work in; wherever we have the opportunity our mines are concealed in hollows and behind hills. The mines are available to Anyone most of the time, unless we are running tests.

Our mines are scattered about, but the Guildhall is located at 1080, 2469 in Red Sea Oasis, on the West side of the Nile - to the right of the ramp up to Sunset National Park.

Prospecting for Marble

There's a very efficient, detailed prospecting procedure at Sunset Foundry Prospecting for Marble.

Raising Marble

Marble provides an excellent guide to operating the Quarry winches.

Metalworking

Facilities Map for the Sunset Foundry Guild

We tested the following mines using the Metallurgy Skill to determine the types of minerals, and then a Jeweler's Pick to determine if there were also any gems. We've indicated the percentage of junk that had nothing, sand, or dirt, and the various types of minerals that were found.

To mine effectively, you get to get the Mineralogy Skill. You can also look up the minerals at http://www.webmineral.net if you want to understand more about the cluster shapes and colors.

We pulled about 20 ore bodies per mine, so we can't really indicate the ratios of the various minerals as you can sort them into different mine carts, nor have we attemped to indicate which minerals appeared in the same ore body.

The coordinates indicate the end of the mine cart track. Within each grouping, items are listed North to South.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Map of Egypt
