The Test Of Life > Nile Delta Water Works

Nile Delta Water Works

Live in Nile Delta? Want to see imroved vegetable yields in town? We're here to serve you. This is specifically the ND branch of the aquaduct from the EWW pump, since the VoK and PB branches have their own supporters. See below (Realities of Pumps) for more information.

A reminder: If you own a tower, you have a vested interest in keeping the pump wound up. Take time to pump water, every now and again, or if you happen to be just passing by. - Sabt-Pestnu

Joining the Guild

We are rejuvinating the Nile Delta Megalopolis guild to serve as the Nile Delta Water Works guild. Look for the former name by /info.

Total DeNile: we are using this guild largely as a base of support for the aquaduct line. Two pottery decks, two vault kilns, and many other supplies. ... and a small guild hall. Thus, our reusing the Nile Delta Megalopolis guild, which was languishing for its purpose being finished. Not to mention the 100K of bricks stored there...

Basic tower cost

Having for most purposes broken away from EWW, I am unsure how much (if any) resources (aside from Sallah's and my own) have been stored up. At least part of the ND Mega resources went towards the pump, and another portion is going into the towers, and raising thereof. - S.P.

Requirement PER TOWER Pledged/Received
1 cistern 0 / 0
5 copper pipe 0 / 0
200 black tiles 0 / 0
100 white tiles 0 / 1593
50 yellowish tiles 0 / 9730 - Green Yellow
50 greenish tiles 0 / 0
50 bluish tiles 0 / 1372
50 redish tiles 0 / 1313
100 concrete 0 / 0
20 tar 0 / 0
1 canvas (const. site) 0 / 0
4 rope (const. site) 0 / 0
50 straw (const. site) 0 / 0

as with other projects... "<color>ish" - any tile with that color name in it. IE, Greenish: Yellow Green, Greenish Yellow, Green, Dark Green, Light Green.... - SP

Tower expansion materials

Currently, Sallah's tower is the benchmark for how high we need to build towers. As each tower is built, we need to expand it to its maximum height.

Donation locations will float, as the plumbing advances. Contact Sallah-Hazerah (or Sabt-Pestnu) for where the current donation chests are. DeNile will soon have chests in those much-easier-to-find fixed locations.

Tower Details

This shows only the ND branch (and initial towers off of the aquaduct). Sinai and EWW have their own pages, so now we have a home of our own...

Note: Tower Height is, at this point superfluous. Unless we find that we need to expand the whole line, if you can still expand your tower, it's too small.

The Pump

We have a vested interest in keeping the pump endowed with water. Please take the time, on occasion, to look at the pump's water level, and to raise it if it is lacking.

The realities of Pumps

As noted on our [parent page]?, a 36 tower aquaduct run can exhaust a pump reserve in 2 days.

We are currently building off of the EWW pump, which is supporting the PB line (140 towers), the VoK line (another 40 towers after the split from PB), and the Sinai line (yet another 87 towers). Our projected line is another 40 or so towers. When complete, this should number a total of some 300 some-odd towers off of a single pump.

300 water per minute, 18,000 per hour. The pump reservoir will need to be refilled approximately every 5 hours, until we (NDWW, EWW, SWW) abandon it.

Unless the Stranger rules Egypt, we should not be doing all the pumping ourselves. But that IS the worst case scenario. (And pessimists can only be pleasantly surpised!)

Our first order of business, then, is... do we want to continue with the current line, or scrap it (we have 4 towers of our own, currently, and more coming as we speak)? I leave the costs of a new pump to the imagination. But I also leave the pumping requirements also to the imagination.
