Flax Ginning Services
This page lists ginning services available to the public. A ginning service will take rotten flax and return you tow, lint and sometimes straw, using flax gins to automatically rake the flax. There is often a fee of some percentage of the flax for the service. The services exist because only some people can start flax gins (you have to have passed at least 1 Art Test) - this is a way to allow everyone to gain the benefit of flax automation.
Given the ease of making a little extra flax for a fee versus the difficulty of transporting large amounts of lint and tow, it is often better using a ginning service near home.
Since many of these services are just setting up, be aware that there may be a short delay between you stashing flax and getting raked products until the services have a sufficient stockpile to do immediate swaps (lag time dependent on usage of the service).
