I'm still kind of new to the brewing scene, but I've had pretty good luck so far. Number-crunching is fun. :-)

All recipes I've created so far use Y48 as the only yeast... but it's an odd strain of Y48 that has a lower alcohol ceiling than it should. Thus, it can't make Very Potent beers, and these recipes might not work right with the normal version - an increased alcohol cap could cause beer to be more potent than indicated here, or to go bitter. The site I use is 748, -3292, sealing at 1750 remaining.

Also, I keep notes here for my personal reference. Hope you don't mind the clutter. And I have *no* idea what any of this translates to in terms of festival requirements, but if anything catches your eye, /chat me in game and I'll see what I can do.

First Attempt (Potent Fruity, Noticeable Honey)

Beginning: End: Notes:
My first brew ever, with fairly random ingredients. Surprisingly, it worked.

Not Quite Potent Enough (Potent Fruity, Brown, Bold Honey)

Beginning: End: Notes:
So named because I hadn't quite caught on that the alcohol ceiling was low yet, so I thought I'd made a math error resulting in the 1191 final alcohol content. Was intended to be Very Potent.

Maltose Test (Dry, Hint of Honey, Hint of Barley)

Beginning: End: Notes:
An effort to test the maltose floor, to see if that was the cause of the insufficient alocohol in the previous brew. Proved that the maltose floor was exactly where it belonged for Y48.

(A further test of the alcohol ceiling proved that it is 1191 in between these two brews, but the resulting beer was cloying)

Potent Black Fruity, Bold Honey

Beginning: End: Notes:
Fixed the problem with the previous cloying batch. Be careful with tannin levels when swapping medium and dark malt in recipes!

Potent Sweet Brown, Noticeable Barley

Beginning: Notes:
This recipe should be possible with far less malt than that. This was an attempt at Bold Barley flavor, but a small miscalculation made it fall 4 barley flavor short.

Potent Sweet Brown, Bold Barley

Beginning: Notes:
See how small of a miscalculation that was? Black should also be possible with the addition of about 3 or 4 burnt malt.

Attack of the Affixes! (Potent Fruity Dry Brown, Noticeable honey, Noticeable barley)

Beginning: End: Notes:
Perhaps my favorite brew to date, just because it's such a mouthful to describe. I intend to see if I can add "very" to the beginning when I start testing other yeast sites.
