The Carpentry Trick

Most of you have probably used a Carpentry Shop by now. You gather wood, hit the "Start planing wood into boards" button, sit back to wait... and get bored. One Board every 2-3 seconds? Bah. If you need a lot of Boards, this can be a rather long and drawn out process. But fear not, there is a way to cut the time required in half... or even more!

The first thing you must do is change some game options. Click your Avatar, click "Utility", and then click "Options: Chat-Related". Two options need setting here. Click the boxes next to "Chat and Inventory can be minimised" and "Minimised chat-channels are still visible". Now close the options box.

Next, you need to find a compound with two or more Carpentry Shops in close proximity. Handily enough, the guild has a compound containing four Carpentry Shops that are right next to each other. Stand in the middle of the Carpentry Shops, and adjust your view so that you can see them all. Now you're ready to perform the little trick.

First, press "Enter" on your keyboard. You will notice that the chat area now displays: "Press Enter to Chat". This means that the chat window is now disabled until you press "Enter" again. The point of that? It also means hotkeys are enabled. If you click on a Carpentry Shop, you will notice that [P] is written next to "Plane a piece of wood into a board". That means that "P" is the hotkey. Put your mouse pointer over a Carpentry Shop, but dont click it. Hit "P". Quickly move your pointer to the next Carpentry Shop, and hit "P" again. Repeat this on the remaining two shops. By the time you have done this on all four shops, the first will be ready to plane another board... so mouse over it and hit "P". Rinse and repeat until you have enough boards or run out of wood! Its as easy as that. Using this method and two Carpentry Shops, you can make about two boards per second. You can add one board to that for every extra Shop there is... up until the point where you cant click all of them in one second of course. :p

Enjoy!
