Hmm

I'm faily new being from beta and such, so I can't say I'm familar with the test, but it does have interesting social ramifications that no other game has been willing to present to the player base and for that I have to cheer.

Alot of you know me from the mining research I did during Beta and Final, from chats during digs I've run, and alot of you know me from coming down to visit our guilds public mine to get one of the many metals it produces, or from the forums. That being said however, alot of you don't know me... I'm a face in the crowd, a face living in Upper Nubia to be precise (also known as Upper Bufu).

Demi-Pharaoh is a test I'd be very interested in participating in for many reasons.

What qualifications do I have?

• I started and help run SUNRAY the research and chat collective of upper nubia.
• I've coordinated the research efforts for Upper Nubia and due to great people we have managed to keep up with research even though we have far fewer people than most of the regions on a similar research arc.
• Setup and run several research digs with people from outside regions that didn't screw anyone out of stones they needed.
• Helped setup the first high yield public pottery wheel facility (8, was first over 2.)
• Helped setup the first publicly advertised papyrus drying facilty and seed depo.
• Helped setup the first high yield public tungsten mine (~28/cf smelt with no sorting required-- come on down!).
• Personally closed Tungsten research at several regions.
• I have a sense of humor.

Largely my accomplishments aren't personal however, they're things being part of a group of great people has enabled me to do and I'd like to be Demi-Pharaoh because I feel that becoming a larger part of egypt as a whole would be beneficial.

I've noticed one thing that everyone who has decided to make a bid for demi-pharaoh has mentioned, the ability to ban. My stance on the ability to ban is mixed. Some people believe it shouldn't be used at all, others as a punishment for griefers in place of laws being required to exile them, and a few others yet seem to hold a more fluid stance on it.

My stance is simple: I'd rather avoid it whenever possible. Until we pass laws that can curb many issues (and we must pass these kinda of laws, we can't rely on the Demi-Pharaoh's ability to ban to help impose order) I would try to arbitrate a fair compromise between the involved parties first and foremost, failing that I would be sure I had a deep understanding of both sides of the issue and only in the most extreme circumstances would I wield such an ability. It is far better to let a guilty person go free than to punish an innocent person. Once sufficient laws pass as to not require intervention on the part of a demi-pharaoh, I would gladly shelf the ability permenently.

Another aspect I neglected to mention is my belief that anyone who completes the test of Demi-Pharaoh should complete all other tests in the Leadership discipline, if I would win demi-pharaoh, I would make it priority one to complete all other leadership tests asap to maximize the number of possible oracles for any endgame requirements that may manifest.
