I. Mercantile is a new skill that would be implemented into the game at Universities of Leadership.

   A. After research donations are completed at a selected University of Leadership

      1. A Marketplace would be constructed within a reasonable distance of the Chariot stop in that region.

      2. Citizens of Egypt will be able to learn the Mercantile skill which will allow them to operate as a seller in a constructed Marketplace.

II. Marketplaces

   A. Structure

      1. Much like a guild hall a Marketplace is a permanent structure with a set amount of available openings once constructed.

         a. With donations the Marketplace can be expanded to allow more sellers to occupy the building at one time.

             1. This would only effect the overall size of the building not the amount of "booths" in the graphical representation.

      2. The graphical representation of the Marketplace should be in the design concept of an outdoor flea market with wither wooden tables or woven rugs.

   B. Sellers/Buyers

      1. Sellers

         a. Any citizen who has learned the skill of Mercantile can sell their wares at a Marketplace, provided the number of sellers does not already exceed the amount
            the Marketplace can hold.

            1. There will be a rental fee assessed to a citizen each time he/she chooses to sign in and sell their wares.

               a. The fee will be non-returnable and will be taken as a "Pharoah Tax".

               b. Once the "Pharoah Tax" is paid a seller must remain within 3 coordinates of the building or loose his spot (and the rental fee).

            2. For each different type of item you choose to make available for sale the use of one Paper is required.

     2. Buyers

         a. It costs nothing for a buyer to make use of the Marketplace. The only expense incurred is that of the purchases made.

         b. You do not have to have learned the Mercantile skill to purchase an item from a seller.

     3. Transactions

         a. Once a seller has paid their rental fee they will add items into their sales inventory.

         b. A price will then be set for each item type.

         c. Once a price is set for an item a buyer may click on the Marketplace and sellect a good for sale from a menu listing the resources(and number available)

in one column and costs in another. (ex. 1 Medium Stone(5) 10 Cuttable Stones Seller:Volksen)

         d. The buyer then sets the amount he wishes to purchase.

         e. After both the buyer and seller have confirmend the deal the transaction is completed.

After research is completed, the new skill Mercantilism will allow the construction and use of Marketplaces.

Mercantilism (Petition form)

A Marketplace starts by supporting some number of sellers, and expands over time.

Anyone with the Mercantilism skill can register with the Marketplace, and gain the ability to sell goods until they move more than three coordinates away from the Marketplace (automatically unregistered).

Sales are created by listing the type and quantity of a good being offered, and the specific type and quantity of good which will be accepted as payment.

Purchasers may view each person’s sales, and select one that they wish to complete. The seller then confirms the sale, causing the listed goods to be transferred from one inventory to the other.

Use & Expansion: Anyone wishing to sell at a Marketplace must deposit a fee to do so. There is an additional (nominal) fee for each Sale that is created. These fees will be used to cover the cost of expanding the Marketplace to accommodate more Sellers.
