Following are only 2 theories, please help to work them out or proof them nonsense:
1. There seems to be a sort of range, and i think its the same distance of the hearing-range. When u cross the invisible "border" of this range(which is 30-50 locs) u have a chance to make a gem spawn. i stood for hours at the spot in closest range to my 3 watermines and simply switched the angles from time to time, had very rare spawn. Then i began to run around and moved to a point more then 50 locs away from the mines and returned..and a few locs close to the mine the spawnsound came. And this happened a several times, to often to be pure random. I think its simply a chance, nothing to count on on every try but might be helpful if you have a long time without spawn.
I found that distance did not factor into the amount of gems I was getting at all. I was getting them at a consistant rate whether I was right next to the mine, or a distance away. -Goffik
2. is it time depended ? now the second day i have in the early morning really good spawns. i know its not logical, but is teppy ?
3. Is there any definite proof that pitch has anything to do with water mining? Here's what I think: Pitch was just thrown in as an additional, yet completely useless, factor just to throw us off from figuring out the mechanics behind water mining. -Trizzle
4. I have done some testing and I believe that over time the angle does not matter for cuttable gems but it does determine the non-cuttable gem types. -Zapster
