Events > The Great Star Lab Firing

If you look at the page for the Star Rack, you'll notice a few things: first off, there are any number of excellent stars for decent fireworks, as well as a good lot of them for half-assed ones. There are also very few in general, compared to Tale 2. Part of this is the lack of communication between those who hold star labs, and a part is that said labs are so widespread and far between that nobody really wants to fire them off! There are probably hundreds distributed throughout Egypt, but nobody really does anything with them...so there's a dearth.

So, to try and assist with the creation of more interesting stars, I'm hereby announcing...

The Great Star Lab Firing!

On Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th, then on Sunday, July 22nd, we're going to collect as many players with as many star labs as possible, and fire them all off, voting on as many as we can to ensure that there's a maximum amount of viewers for each and every one! With any luck, we'll not only draw a spectacular number of viewers, but open a star or four in a region that doesn't have all that many to begin with...thus ensuring a wider diversity among future pyrotechnics competitions!

Naturally, an event like this is pretty worthless without an additional bonus, so I'm putting out a call here for any beer brewers, viticulturalists, and herbgatherers to bring down some of their wares...perception, after all, is a massive plus! And, because of the difficulties involved, I'd like to request that if you attend, you be well: we certainly don't want another resurgence of the plague, after all.

If you wish to attend, please, write down your name here, along with the timeslot in which you'd like to come and what materials you're willing to bring. Prizes may be distributed via raffle, as well, both to the providers and the viewers!

 nchanter (4 labs!)

Note: Last tale one things that we did to assure "good" stars was to load the deck at the University. After 7 labs are returned the University, the University picks a new star. The star chosen is random, like pulling a name out of a hat. BUT... the number of names in the hat that each star gets is based on the number of watchers of that star had. We would load the deck by giving the University one Lab (with a GREAT star) that had many watchers and 6 labs that only had only one watcher. This would heavily bias the University to pick the highly watched GREAT star. To avoid having bad luck and getting a bad star, the single watcher labs, would have a nice star picked by the single watcher, unlikely to be chosen, but still a nice star. Just a thought - Balthazarr
