Who we are

We are a small group of friends who found we worked very efficiently together and have similar a similar philosophy in game. We are not looking to expand our guild nor are we actively recruiting.

Our mining activities

We set out with a goal to acquire a mine position on every metal in Egypt. Steele and Djanee have roleplayed dwarven blacksmith characters in other MMOs and we generally find that profession to our liking. After playing with blacksmithing in beta we wanted to ensure that could continue for us here in Tale3.

As we began placing mines, we found that Steele especially had a talent for placing mines, following/discovering ore veins, and generally pulling great mining locations out of nowhere. He found that to be an exciting and fun challenge to map out veins, trying to unravel the reasoning behind the ore locations, vein structures and inter-relationships. Sometimes when exploring a vein, you will find another metal at one or both of it's endpoints. Discovering this endpoint usually requires following the vein by placing multiple mines along it's path. We have no intention of monopolizing any ore type or vein. We have traded and/or given mine ownership to others in many cases to help ensure access to veins where we have a large number of positions.

We greatly appreciate tips and information regarding uncommon/rare ore veins that are found. We are very willing to help others map out veins and make efficient use of the ore veins they have discovered. Steele is our resident mine expert, and we -do- mean expert. He also loves to gab about theories and observations when we're not keeping him busy scouting the newest location.

Our thoughts on public access mines

Mines in Tale3 collapse and need repairs under certain conditions that we don't yet fully understand. One of the factors certainly seems to be overuse. Public access mines as they currently are implemented almost always result in mines that need to be repaired. The repair costs go up drastically with repeated repairs. The first repair is the same cost as building a new mine. Subsequent repairs go up in cost until we would be faced with the option of abandoning the mine or paying huge amounts of leather and other materials in repairs. The effects that repeated collapse and repair have on the output of mines is also unknown at this time. We are hoping that some type of access limiting law passes in Egypt, (like the Public Mine Act) so that we can allow a number of our mines to be made accessible with usage limitations that would help prevent or limit collapse. Until then, we will keep the mining activity and decisions about appropriate level of mine usage private to our guild. The exception to this seems to be for sand/gem mines. Currently it appears that the sand/gem mines can be torn down and rebuilt in the same location to avoid the increasing repair costs. Sand/gem mines will be made public on a limited basis dependant on the amount of repairs we have to make. In most cases we will have a donations chest nearby to help with that.
