Why don't the function keys do what they are supposed to do?
Here's the quick-and-dirty fix (if you have a pre-2007 keyboard and OS X 10.4 Tiger): press and hold the "fn" key then press F3 or whatever.

The long-and-clean solution is to change the way function keys work on your computer by default. Go to your System Preferences, click on the Keyboard & Mouse icon under the Hardware heading, then make sure the Keyboard tab is selected. Click on the Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys checkbox. Now, you don't need to press "fn" before the function keys.

fn-F3 works for the map, but fn-F11 doesn't work for my friends list.
This is the FAQ page. Please restate that in the form of a question.
*sigh* Why doesn't F11 do what it's supposed to do?
The friends list uses F11, which on some Macs at least, is a little different from F1 through F10. You do not need to press "fn" before pressing F11. (Some people suggest pressing the apple or "Command" key instead of "fn", but that did not work for the author.) You do need to unmap F11 from Expose.
How do I do that?
You can do it through the Keyboard & Mouse preferences described above. A slightly easier way is to go to System Preferences, select the Dashboard & Expose icon under the Personal heading, then click the Desktop: drop-down menu. Select something other than F11.
None of this works with keyboards made after 2006 and/or OS X 10.5.
Ahem.
Why doesn't that work with the latest keyboards and Leopard?
The author doesn't know, as he has an old Mac. Hopefully, someone with the latest and greatest stuff will edit this entry soon with an answer.
How do I take a screenshot of only the ATitD window, not my whole screen?
Press option-c. Then look in your Documents folder for a new sub-folder called eGenesis. Your first screenshot should be a file called Frame0000.png. The second will be Frame0001.png. And so on and so forth.
Why can't I take a screenshot with the beta version of the Mac client?
I don't know. You just can't.
Purely my speculation but... The contents of the game window seems to be an OpenGL object which is opaque to the Quartz-based facilities. Since the client itself has access to the contents of the OpenGL container, it's able to grab the image and save it. If none of that makes sense to you, don't worry. Just sacrifice a gazelle to Toth and rest assured that it won't weigh down your heart before Anubis. - Mnhtp

What does FAQ mean anyway?
Oh boy are you are going to have a tough time.
