1000 Honey and 1000 Wax in 9 minutes.
This may be of interest to folks who need lots of honey and/or wax. I built it because brewing consumes lots of honey. You're welcome to use it, if you like. It's almost certainly in an inconvenient spot for you, but if you need many thousands of honey yourself, it may be worth the time to at least send a mule.
Alternatively, build one yourself! You probably have a chest filling with linen you don't know what to do with, anyway!

It's laid out in four big loops of 25 apiaries each. A public stash chest is placed just at the end of the loop, since you'll be full when you get there. You're welcome to build a private chest in the middle to hold your honey and wax. Please don't build a compound anywhere near here, as they're deadly to apiaries.
It takes me 9 minutes to run the route, resulting in 1000 honey and 1000 wax.
The hives are four coordinates apart. This is too close for a 2-d grid of them, but since these are crowded only in one direction (space to either side) they bounce back fairly quickly. You can run it every 3-4 hours with good results.
How to run the route
The apiaries are close enough together that if you're harvesting on the run, there's not much time between clicks. Here's how I do it.
Stand to the left of the line of apiaries and zoom and rotate so that the line of apiaries goes up the right side of the screen, crowding the edge just a bit. This has two nice benefits:
- The "Checking" dialog pops up in the middle, but the action is off on the side, and the dialogs aren't in the way.
- If the apiaries crowd the right side of the screen, then the apiary "Check" button pops up right under the mouse. Thus, a double click will check it. You've still got to be quick to "Take/Everything" before you pass the apiary, but the double-click thing helps a lot.
Anyway, click on the horizon and run along checking and gathering. It took me some practice to learn to click on the right spot so that I'd run along the size of the apiaries, but it's not too hard.
