Current Policy for Tale 3 and Tale 3 betas. Still under development. /chat Toba if you have suggestions.
1. Thoth is guild founded on the principles of fellowship, community, and shared effort.
- Fellowship Our members are expected to support one another for the betterment of all. As a member you are expected to make the effort to vote, fairly, on the works of your fellow members, and otherwise assist them in their endeavors to meet the Stranger's challenges, and they will support you. You are expected to contribute to the conversation in the guild chat, you need not be the most vocal, but your presence should be felt.
- Community A guild is only as strong as its members, and those members must have a bond. Therefore, all Members of Thoth MUST live within the confines of the camp of Thoth. While Egypt is a large place, with many wonderful landscapes, it is next to impossible to build a feeling of attachment with people you only see in a chat channel. It is also next to impossible to effectively organize group projects if the membership is scattered across the land.
- Shared Effort There is no task in Thoth that is beneath anyone, the Elders must do the same chores as everyone else. We strive to have the burden of work be equal among the members so that each can contribute to the guild and pursue their own interests. We expect you to do your share, not to be slaves to the guild. We would like to see the work doled about according to people's strength and preferences. If you love to mine, but hate to grow vegetables then you should mine, and leave the vegetable growing to someone who does enjoy it. Some projects by there nature require the efforts of more then one person, including, but not limited to: Digging for stones, Placing Raeli ovens, finding and working quarries. It is expected that all members will participate in these efforts to the to the best of their ability to do so.
2. As a guild and as a member, the goal is to provide a high quality camp with all facilities.
- The building of a camp is large and potentially expensive undertaking, and if each member builds their own, there is much repetition and waste. Therefore, Thoth strives to have within the guild camp all of the buildings in sufficient quantity to make it unneeded for you to build a separate camp. As a member of Thoth, if you find we are lacking a given building, or don't have enough of them, raise the issue so we may address it for the benefit of all.
- As even the most junior member of Thoth you will have access to the facilities of the camp, with a few exceptions where some advanced knowledge would need to be demonstrated. It is our intention that no member should ever be deprived of access to any facility they are capable of using.
3. Consumption and Replenishment of resources should always be equitable and fair.
- The resources of the guild will be consumed, and must be replaced at a rate to keep stocks at the minimums or higher. As such it required that if you, or a guild project under your supervision, consume a resource that you (or the members of that project) will replace said resource at a rate of 110% of the resource consumed. For example if you use 10 iron, you will replace it with 11 iron. By this method, the resources of the guild will expand over time without unduly burdening the members. This requirement may be waved at the discretion of the Elders for guild projects.
- There are resources that are rare, and as a guild we will endeavor to secure those resources for the use of the guild and its members.
- Should there be a conflicting need for a resource whereby all those requiring it cannot be given a sufficient amount for their need and no other compromise can be reached, the resource will be allocated to the members in question by random lots. An Elder (or if all Elders are part of the pool the most senior available Patriarch) will draw a name of one of the pool members, and that persons need will be filled. They will then continue to draw names until all the resource is allocated.
- Some resources can be, and should be, held by the guild at large, such as mines, raeli ovens, and quarries. The output of these resources is for the use of the members of the guild. If the resource has an infinite output, they may be freely used by any and all members of the guild. If the resources has a finite output, like raeli ovens and quarries, the output will be distributed according to need and/or desire.
4. Thoth is an active member of the larger Egyptian community.
- There are projects within Egypt, such as University research, that benefits all of Egypt as well as Thoth. As such, Thoth is and will be an active contributor to those efforts within our means.
