This is a macro I made with AutoHotKey to try and take some of the tedium from gathering Slate. I then just expanded it to Grass and Clay using the same methods.
Instructions
Hit either Ctrl+Alt+S for Slate, Ctrl+Alt+G for Grass, or Ctrl+Alt+C for Clay then enter the amount that you want to gather. Just run around the appropriate places and gather as you go. Note on clay: Make sure you have water in jugs or it will go crazy while the clay icon is up. (I´m working on a fix for that.) You will not be able to gather anymore until the ammount entered has run it´s course. You can, however, just reload the macro to reset it.
DISCLAIMER
This should be considered very beta and I think it only works right on WinXP. Other Windows title bars are different in the Y direction; so you can just adjust each sections PixelSearch to account for that. Put your adjustments and what version of windows you are using down at the bottom of this page and I´ll add some constants at the top so it can be easily adjusted. By the way, this also means you will have some trouble if you are using a theme that changes the default size of your window´s title bar. Suggestions are welcomed and needed!

Works great for me, running XP at 1024x768 maximised. Didn't work at first because I had the 'veiw icons at smaller size' checked in the interface options

Doesn't work for me, I only tried the grass function. Here's some info.
WinXP Home (SP2), standard windows theme. Monitor running at 1680x1050. Macro reports win_width as 1688. Also, PixelSearch returns an ErrorLevel of 1 or 2 (2 ~%40 of the time).
