This is the Test of Sacrifice as proposed by Anien.
Test of Sacrifice
Though the gods are pleased by sacrificial bonfires and the vigils we keep; we are often called upon to make a more personal sacrifice to show our reverence. This test is about who is willing to sacrifice the most buildings to show this. Once you have started this test every building you own (not one owned by a guild) has the option added to it: "Sacrifice this building to the gods." If you do you score points for the resources that went into creating that building. Points will fluctuate and won't be final till the week's end. Each resource in the game will be worth 100 points total. Your points will be your share of the total amount of that resource blown up. For example: if the buildings blown up across all of Egypt had 50,000 bricks total and you blew up 10 Camel pens (4,000 bricks total) you would receive 100* (4,000 / 50,000) = 8.00 This would be rounded to the nearest hundredth. So anything less than 500 bricks would not score points, as 500 bricks would = 0.01 . Each week the top 7 points pass with points carried over week to week.
Scoring options
You could average the scores each week and subtract that average from everyone's score, minimum score 0. This would hurt the non passers to some extent, but would allow new comers a competitive chance as it would reduce the inflation in the middle of the Tale.
Optional ideas
Favored Resource: Each week there would be a favored resource whose base score would be 200 (double). If you sacrificed at least 10 buildings that contained this resource you would receive a pop up: "The gods seemed especially pleased with your sacrifice", each time you sacrificed a building with that resource. This could easily be adapted for a favored building as well. This also leads to an interesting dilemma about sharing this information or keeping it to yourself to pass :)
Opinions
Please feel free to place any comments about the test here
- As a guild elder, I see plenty of room for Elders to abuse the 'no guild property' rule by giving stuff to themselves, but I suppose that is always a risk anyway. Teppy should love this, it is a huge waste of resources and could easily generate lots of fights and drama. ;P ~Shivani
- I can't see how this has anything to do with the Worship discipline. Sounds more like an architecture test to me. Worship tests are generally about coordinating a large number of people to work together to perform a ritual. - Spicy
