The most common complaint in the game is slow travel to remote locations, so here is an idea: Land Sailing. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_sailing). And I thought a body test should have some action and depend on player skill instead of wiki skill.
To prepare, the player has to build a sand yacht.
To drive, board the yacht and catch the wind. The steering controls are somewhat complex, but fortunately there is a semi-auto pilot (like an R2D2) and it will display the key the player has to press. The keys scroll from top to bottom of the monitor (tetris style). When the key has to be pressed, it changes color. When the key has to be released, it changes color again. The yacht starts at speed one, and only one (random) key is needed for that. While the yacht picks up speed, more (random) keys are added. If you manage to hit/release those keys in the right moment, the yacht keeps accelerating. You have to get at least some of the keys right to keep up your speed. Watching those keys and control the direction at the same time should become very challenging when you drive at high speed (it should be possible to get to speeds many times faster than a player running at speed 21).
Since yachts are a danger to pedestrians, they are not allowed on roads. If you hit a road or another obstacle like a mountain or a canyon or a river, you lose speed (though I would love the option of jumping over a ledge and down a mountain side).
Getting Points:
Passing the Test: Like cicadas, every 2 game days the lowest points of the top 7 players becomes the requirement for a skill point. With 7 skill points you pass the test, but you can continue till you have a skill of 21. Once you have passed, you can still drive your yacht, but you won't get points anymore (though you should still be able to set speed records).
