Test of the puzzled Pirates
Story:
Three pirates escape together after stealing the treasure map of Captn Hatnofret. However, a map can be carried only by a single person...
Playing the test:
- Sign up at the university of leadership for the next round.
- Lots of groups of 3 random players are created.
- The goal of the group is to vote for one person to carry (win) the treasure map. Groups last for at least 5 days and will not end until a majority has voted for one player. If the group deadlocks or doesn't vote, it will last till the tale is over.
- After a majority has been established, the round will continue for one more day (or more if the 5 days are not up by then) to give time to denounce.
- The winner gets the treasuremap and can go dig it up.
Convincing the other two to vote for you:
You can bribe your fellow pirates with a percentage of the treasure. Bribing magically increases the available treasure to 200 gold coins. When the treasure is dug up, the bribe is automatically added to the score of the bribed player.
Obviously you cannot promise away more than 100% of it, the normal case would be to offer one player a percentage and keep the rest for yourself. Bribing one player should be enough, since you only need 2 votes to win the round.
Bribing is a risk though. Either player involved in a bribe can denounce the other one to the authorities. If only one player denounces the other, he gets to keep the double-value treasure map for himself alone. If both denounce each other, the authorities will claim the treasure map and its lost forever.
Denouncing can happen only during the last day after a majority vote has been established. It becomes visible to the other players at the moment the round finally ends.
Passing the test:
Each treasure chest that is dug up has 100 gold coins or 200 gold coins if a bribe was used. Whoever has the most gold coins at the weekly passes, passes the test.
Notes:
- Once you have passed the test, you can't play anymore.
- You can only be in one group at a time. If you current group doesn't finish before the next one starts, you miss the next round.
- Much as I would like a puzzle with a treasure map, this is a leadership test and should not require solving a puzzle to find the treasure. Maybe a special shovel...
