Tests > Monument Tests > The Test Of The Reborn

General Description

A leader knows who to trust through adversity, no matter the temptations his supporters are facing.

A quick summary: Pick Embalmers you trust your life with. Have them make simple devotions for you as you roam the lands of Egypt in a ghost form. The Gods will put more challenges on you. They will present juicy temptations for your Embalmers to betray you.

Starting up

Once a follower of the discipline of Leadership (the Embalmee) has signed up to the test, teh Embalmee can build a Mastaba.
Although not a trivial building, the Mastaba should not require high technology materials.
Once the Mastaba is built, the Embalmee has to select a minimum of seven Embalmers.
The Mastaba consists of :

Example of costs:

Once the Mastaba and the ritual pool are built, a new channel is created (like a guild tab).

The Embalmee then needs to name at least 7 Embalmers. Each time one is named, both the Embalmer and the Embalmee will be prompted to upgrade the Mastaba with :

(The Embalmee cannot proceed in the test if there is not enough Embalmers and/or if they don't each have a Kenobic Jar).
Upon the selection of these Seven Embalmers, the Test really starts for the Embalmee.
He now has an option to bathe in this pool and to "Raise as a Ghost".

Ghost Rules

As a Ghost, the Embalmee :

To come back to normal, the Ghost needs to simply go back to his Mastaba and select "Come back to the Livings" on the Ritual Pool.

Progress beyond the Veil of Death

Everytime the Embalmee goes into Ghost form, he will start a phase in his journey through the Veil of Death, consisting in the following events:

Embalmee : The Whims of Gods

As he enters the Ghost form, the Gods will address the Embalmee and have a whim that needs to be sorted before going to the next event in the phase. Only the Embalmee will be aware of the whim.
Note: As long as the whim is not complete, the Embalmee can go back to life without any type of penalty.

The complete Whim list should be unknown when the Test is released, and would be balanced at the Devs' discretion
It could be (but not limited to):

The Devotions

Once the whim has been fulfilled, the Embalmee can meditate on as many Embalmer's Kenobic Jars as he wants, and will receive a vision of the Devotion this Embalmer will have to do. These devotions should not be complex or too much time consuming. They will always need to be completed by the blessing of the Kenobic Jar at the Mastaba by the Embalmer himself.
Example : Grow some carrots, gather some tadpoles, etc.

Embalmers : Temptations of the Gods

Once the Devotions are known, each Embalmer will receive a Temptation. They can either ignore them, or go to their Kenobic Jar to betray the Embalmee and receive their prize for their treason. If an Embalmer chose to betray, the Embalmee score is reset.
Note: The Embalmer can only betray WHILE the Embalmee is in Ghost form, no interaction is possible out of that, so the Embalmer can "withdraw" from the Test by simply going back to the Livings and not taking another Ghost form again.
The complete Temptations list should be unknown when the Test is released, and would be balanced at the Devs' discretion. The following are simply suggestions.

Temptations are divided into three categories Annoyance, Critical, and Lethal: Depending on the total number of Embalmers, a different number of each categories will randomly be selected and assigned to your Embalmer (Although only the Temptations to the Embalmers who were online when the Embalmee went in Ghost form will be active)
Number Embalmer 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 etc.
Annoyance 4 5 5 5 6 6 6 7 7 7
Critical 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 5 5
Lethal 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4

Annoyance:

Critical

Lethal

Conclusion and Scoring

Passing

Note: You cannot be an Embalmee and an Embalmer at the same time.
Note: You cannot be Embalmer for two different Embalmees.

Passings are competitive: either x players with highest scores need to progress y times before passing, or x players with higher scores pass each week, etc. To be tuned and at Teppy's discretion depending on date of release in the Telling.

Scores could possibly decay each week.

Fate

As seen above, some "failures" to please the Gods' whims, betrayal, etc. will bring the Embalmee to his Fate.
Please discuss the following options and suggest here or on the forums, as I think it is really a key point that needs to be agreed beforehand.

Proposals of Fate are the following:

FAQs

Q: Can the Embalmee knows who betrayed him, if he is betrayed ?
A: There is no pop-up letting him know, but if the murderer lacked carefulness, an invisible investigator should be able to find out.
