Based on feedback I received in the Forums, I have submitted this as a Petition on 10/21/2007. -Rashanti
The Rule of Law
For the rule of law to be administered fairly, its provisions must be general, and applicable in an unbiased manner to all people. The proper use of law is to reward or punish particular behaviors, not to persecute or pay specific individuals; therefore the following provisions will be enacted:
No law referring to a specific individual person (avatar or player), whether by name or characteristics, may be placed on the ballot for voting by the people of Egypt. Any petition submitted to the University of Leadership with provisions pertaining to a specific individual will have all such provisions vetoed, but any remaining valid provisions may be placed on the ballot.
Commentary by the Author (may be included in the petition)
The point of this law is to prevent petitions such as the following from being placed on the ballot (Note that these are based on actual petitions I've seen):
- The avatar who claimed the buildings of guild MyFavoriteGuild by DPPRA last week made me mad, and I know other people hate him, so he should be permanently banned from Egypt.
- The avatar RealNicePerson is very nice and gave me lots of stuff, so she should be given the title "Prom Queen of Egypt" and have the Developers give her avatar a fancy tiara to wear.
Laws that would still be perfectly valid, and could be placed on the ballot under the proposal above (for example purposes only):
- Any person who claims more than 100 individual buildings in a day through the provisions of DPPRA will have their speed reduced to -100 for a week.
- Any person who unlocks more than 3 tests for Egypt will be given the title "Distinguished Researcher of the Pharoah" and have in their Appearance menu the option of a propellor beanie for a headdress.
- Any DP that bans more than two Elders of the same guild within a month will be deemed as persecuting the guild and will themselves be banned for a month.
