What do you enjoy most about mentoring?
- Getting to meet many different people and of course helping others.
What do you find most difficult about mentoring?
- Balancing time between my projects, my spouse's, my many guilds, and then my mentee.
Where do you find it easier to mentor - on the island or the mainland, and why?
- I have been to the island a few times but each time the people there never really needed help with anything. Or wanted help with anything. So i prefer to do most of my mentoring in my home region of Kush. I am able to help out on either place if ever needed to.
How would you describe your mentoring style?
- Im not one who will just give everything and expect my mentee's to not have to work for certain things. Surviving in egypt takes a person who is willing to work for his/her life in egypt. Im not very hands-on, i prefer to do alot of my talking over /chat or guildchat's. I also believe that players should be encouraged to experiment on there own and not rely on a mentor to hold them by the hand through every aspect. I myself learned alot from the wiki and im a avid supporter of checking wiki first. Now dont get me wrong i dont mean never ask a question, but why ask if you can find it easily? I myself still can be caught asking many questions, especially when wiki is down lol.
Whats the most important thing to teach / do for a new player?
- This question isn't as easy as one single important thing. But id say two. 1. Hard work is required to survive in egypt, dont expect a handout on everything. Trading is king. 2. Wiki is your friend.
Whats the best, or easiest, kind of student to teach?
- One who is willing to work hard on achieving there goals.
What problems have you encountered while mentoring, and how were they resolved?
- Mostly problems i find are people not willing to work for themselves.
What makes you a 'good' mentor?
- I have very strange play hours so can be found alot, which can be good late at night when need help with something. I also consider myself a friendly guy who is willing to help out those who need it.
