Leveling Simulator
Description
This software was designed to help a given player find his path of least resistance to his favourite test. That is, the level system recently introduced with the start of T3 was designed to help new players get started in the game, but has a behavior that prevents you to start a test if you level is not high enough. Maybe this tool will be able to help you find what you can do and in what order.
How to use
- go to http://www.chez-cheos.org/atitd/levels.php?lang=en
- Don't bother with initial levels setting, unless you know you are doing. A player that has achieved citizenship is level 1.
- Choose your highest title on the dropdown menu. This is required because title (best one, not the one you choose to display) grants additional(s) level(s).
- Plan your path through levels. The software guides you in a graphical way : Green boxes shows principles you can get at current level. Red boxes are already checked. Click on principles you intend to do.
- When you're done, copy URL shown in the brown box : it can be used to retrieve current state of the table. Copy/paste it or bookmark it ;)
Please don't hesitate to send me feedbacks and let me know about any bug or problem. Thanks.
Software requirement
- Firefox (may work with another browser but not tested)
- Internet Explorer 6 & 7 should (hopefuly) works too.
- Web Access
Technical data about levels
- A quote from Teppy says that there should be 3 initiations/level, then 2 tests/level (http://www.atitd.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9112&page=1)
- Each test has its own level requirement
- It seems required level to demonstrate a test is the same than to actually start the test. This as since been proven wrong but the software nows correctly manages that.
- There can't be 2 times the same required level in a single discipline.
- Focusing on 1 discipline give additionals levels (based on the tittle : student +1, journeyman +2 etc.)
- Skills and Techs are tied to levels too (most tests require special skills/techs to do them)
TO DO LIST
- add a link on the page that can be copied and used to save/reload the state of the page. Done on 20 Jan 2008
- full french translation. Atm, interface is already translated, but not the data. Done on 20 Jan 2008
- A similar tool which would nicely shows what skill/tech is available at each level. Would that be useful ?
