Light Locks use Lamps, Mirrors, Gems, Rope and possibly Paint. To make it even harder to unlock Paint can be removed and replaced with even more Gems.
The idea would see the player moving a "Lock Torch", Mirrors, and 'combined gems', so that they have accumulated enough power to operate the mechanism to unlock the item. Power is able to be increased with Gems and can be decreased with Mirrors. Increasing the power requires 1 Diamond of any size to be installed into the Lock Torch, the following can be used as an example.
| Power Source | Units provided |
| Base Power | 50 Units |
| Small Gem | +1 Units |
| Medium Gem | +2 Units |
| Large Gem | +5 Units |
| Huge Gem | +10 Units |
Each device needing light energy needs a set amount of power, that can be from 10 to 150 in units. Thou with more different combinations of power, needs a larger board and requires more materials to build the pieces (ie Mirrors, Gems).
Light comes in one colour, White, with the use of gems; the colour of the light is easily changed. There are two different ways to change the colour of the light, the first is the use of a single coloured gem (which lowers the strength of the light with lower quality gems), the second is the use of a Huge Diamond combined with three other coloured gems to make a Combined Colour Gem - which in turn takes one colour, and spilts it into three colours Combined Colour Gems lose little power but require lots of materials to construct.
Mirrors are used in two different means. The first is a simple 'bending of light' method which takes the light source and turns it in another direction 90 degrees from where it started. The second requires more mirrors to create a dome in which takes a beam of light from the correct direction and splits it into two directions.

Unlocking the device requires that all points requiring power have the correct coloured light supplying power, and at the required power levels. Once all the pieces needing light and power have it, the device is considered opened.
