Anyone who is a fan or has read 'Warlock' by Wilbur Smith will be aware of this concept.
In the book, young Egyptian men prove themselves as warriors by running the Red Road in a team of two without getting caught by a team of red road veterans. There are a number of mini-tests such as passing and shooting at a series of archery targets whilst travelling at speed in a chariot. Failure meant at the least humiliation and at worst- death. It required skill, courage, humility and strength.
I don't intend anything quite so 'competitive'. But dare you run the Red Road.
Pharoah requests that the men and women of egypt prove their fitness and worthiness by running the Red Road. This is a grueling course across the length and breadth of Egypt collecting medals along the way. At the end of each week scoring will be calculated and the leading pair will be awarded a champion medal. Every four weeks the players with the most accrued points will pass to the great acclamation of all Egypt. They will have run the Red Road, they will be worthy. After this point they may continue to run the Red Road but not win points.
A guild of at least ten players must be set up and from this a random pair of players may run the course (yes the other paris may run the course too). Each player on joining the guild will receive a wooden lozenge token as a commemoration of their participation.
There is no time limit when you can run the Red Road, it must be at a time to suit each pairing. Points are not deducted if one of your pairing quits the game. However you must wait for another member to become available.
The medals will be awarded for success (based on a points system). Special medals for entry (wooden circular disk) and other medals may be awarded.
NB i am still working this out :)) Any ideas, please put below in the comments section
