DoS Pyramid of Renewal project.

Do you need to bore for tooth limestone to complete the principles of Test of True Leadership? Or do you like tasks that induce repetitive stress injury? Be a part of Egypt's next pyramid project! We are building a Pyramid of Renewal in the area south of the "X" in the Desert of Shades. It is close to the chariot stop, just east of the School of Thought and west of the University of the Human Body.

There is a new guild, DoS Pyramid Project, created to help in the construction of the Pyramid. Please apply if you are interested in helping more than just for True Leadership principles.

Now in Stage 1: Finding the blocks

Please read http://perl.atitd.wiki/wiki/tale3/Finding_Limestone_Blocks

Bring some glass rods, and you can borrow more and a lead mallet (not a "heavy mallet") from the chest at -1492 2499. Unfortunately, someone stole all the rods, mallets, and boards from the chest, so I will not be able to loan extra rods in this convenient way. If I am around (my compound is across the road from the School of Thought) you can ask to borrow some. It is not required that you lay out all 100 rods before starting to tap. But if you use some lower number of rods, retrieve and reuse them, please still do and mark a 10x10 grid, so we can keep the searched areas marked out. If you think you may not complete the tapping of your grid, it is best if you [temporarily] set your preferences so that buildings you create are public use, so someone else can finish them. Note that for True Leadership principles, the bore holes from which you get a block need to be yours.

Lay out a 10x10 grid of bore holes, adjacent to an area that has already been searched. Bore in the center of the squares, the center of the coord, not where the coord changes. Use /clocloc if you are not sure where the coords change. Put brick racks in the 4 corners of the grid (in the center of the coords in the corners) so we can tell where the searched areas are. A searched area will then have a brick rack in the first and tenth columns of the first and tenth rows, and almost always at least one block sitting in it. The pictures show an area with a grid laid out and the 4 brick racks at the junction of 4 searched areas. A block that has the light area that looks like a piece of parchment (I guess it is sand?) around it has not been dug up yet. That is fine, we will dig them up and put them on rollers (the plain blocks) during the pushing process.

High focus and perception food (with positive carry) is provided in the compound there. After placing the bore holes, eat some food, and tap all the rods down to solid rock or limestone block. Do not tap without high perception (32+ is best, 30+ is ok). You will break rods. You should have a yield between 1 and 5 blocks in 40 minutes or so.

Retrieve the rods when you hit solid rock. If you get the rods deep enough without hitting rock, crack the outline, but you don't have to dig up the blocks. We will do that later, with high Endurance food. Please place all retrieved rods and the lead mallet back in the chest. If you can't finish the grid for some reason, please leave the bore holes set to public use or (probably better, considering the theft) give them to Kummick, Twokay, Krakos, or Society of DoS Academics (SODA).

Please be sure to set the permission for use for the blocks to "Public". Fortunately, I don't think we need to worry about anyone walking off with the blocks.

Chat Kummick, Twokay, or Krakos if you have any questions.

It is easier to see the coordinate squares from F8F8 view, and I think a little easier if the Utilities/Video/Advanced Terrain is OFF.
