Now available! Cheap as Dirt Blacksmithing Tools -- for your simple needs!

Cheap As Dirt Tools is a special product type that I'm setting up for the sake of 'breaking the hold' the extremely-good blacksmiths have on the crafting economy; as their time is extremely limited, and their products are hence highly priced, my intent is to give tools which are 'good enough' to the folks willing to pay rather smaller prices for them.

When paying for tools, three prices hold...iron, which is 100% of the base price, brass, which is 90% of the base price, and steel, which is 75% of the base price. Haggling's allowed for the better materials when it comes to prestocked items, though for specially crafted ones, it may roll the other way. Items above 9k, when I make them, may have a slight surcharge for any name other than "Cheap as Dirt", including the buyer's name.

Anyway, on to the prices.

Shovels

Shovels range from 8k or above; this ensures at least a 5-dig pull on every click at a dirt patch, and a nice hefty bonus when it comes down to actual stone-based digs. Prices are 20 iron for a basic 8k shovel, raised 1 iron for every quality level 100 above that; above 9k, this is 2 iron per 100, if it comes down to it. Therefore, prices range somewhere along the following...

Quality Iron Brass Steel
8000 20 18 15
8250 22 20 17
8500 25 23 19
8750 27 25 21
9000 30 27 23

If you order a shovel above 9k, we can negotiate. If you want a cheaper shovel, that can also be done at a lower price -- much less effort involved. I might even accept copper!

Hatchets

Hatchets generally range 8.5k and above, now; the base cost is 40 iron for an 8.5k shovel, increased by two iron for every 100 points of quality.

Quality Iron Brass Steel
8500 40 36 30
8600 42 38 32
8700 44 40 33
8800 46 41 35
8900 48 43 36
9000 50 45 38

And on it goes. Same as shovels for the other info.

Other materials

At the moment I'm not skilled enough to make effectively 'useful' resin wedges, and the other tools are less than helpful as of yet. This information will change soon.
