Sensitize your mind to know Egypt's gods, by use of meditation and mind-altering brews. By discussing your visions with others, the true Face of God can be discerned.
The Test of Visions, in the Discipline of Worship is unlike anything you have yet been challenged with...
Those with Botanical Identification Level 3 will be able to brew Face[sic] of God Serum, a potent concoction which, if ingested, can cause the user to have strange visions.
While visions are not always accurate, there is often a kernel of truth to them.
And by comparing your visions to those of local friends, you may determine one accurate picture.
(The Test of Visions is one of collaborative puzzle solving.)
Once the location of the Face of a God is known, then the next 7 people to ingest Face[sic] of God Serum at that location will advance toward passing the Test.
A few people are asking if Botanical Identification (a very difficult skill to acquire) is needed to drink the Serum.
No, it's not.
In fact, Botanical Identification 3 will almost certainly be the domain of a small number of specialists.
Good luck, priests of Egypt.
(Serum name is *Eye* of God)
By carefully ingesting precise quantities of Eye of God Serum, it is possible to see visions of the Gods! Visions can be deceiving, however, and it is only by comparing your visions with those of fellow spiritualists, that you can truly know the Face of God. When you are sure you have identified the spot that the God is inhabiting, consume a final dose of the serum. This time, the vision will be clear.
[Note: To ingest the serum, have in in inventory and look under Tests >> Test of Visions menu]
You drink the Eye of God serum and then you will receive a message that you maybe will get a vision in 20 Teppy minutes. When you get the vision it will tell you that you see the face of "Replace a God Name Here". It then gives you the following information in your vision.
(Building type) owned by (UserName) built by (UserName) on (Game Date), (location info), (Number) feet above sea level, (Number) feet from water, (more location info).
For Example:
You see the face of Bastet in: a Serpentarium owned by Pharaoh, built by Redrac on Year 1, Shemu III-22, 1:34PM, resting on sandy terrain, 7 feet above sea level, In a Small Valley.
After ingesting serum, the same person can drink a second serum at the same spot, and receive a different vision relating to the same god. This can be helpful if you can't find enough people for your group, and need another clue (and can afford the serum).
The Vision Tracker ( http://atitd.centauri.org/vision ) helps coordinate what groups are searching for what Faces of God, share information on visions within a group, and keep track of how many people have seen a clear vision of a Face. Still in beta; check it out, and report any problems to Kem.
When you locate the face of god and ingest the serum at the location (within 2 coords of the building identified by the vision), a dialog box will tell you that you have found the face of god. (Sorry, no fanfare!) Your Test of Visions menu will tell you how many times you have located the face of god.
A spot will become "used up"; that is, seven people ingest serum at that location, and no more may see the face of god there -- after that, a period of 5 to 10 minutes will elapse, and the location of the face of god will be reset and the hunt may begin again. *Do not drink right after a face is exhausted - you will get a popup saying, "Your vision fades and your head clears."
At any one time, there appears to be a face of god present in each quadrant of the Egyptian coordinate system, roughly divided on the zero lines. So one for northwest (-coord,+coord), one for northeast (+coord,+coord), one for southwest (-coord,-coord) and one for southeast (+coord,-coord).
Again, the Vision Tracker ( http://atitd.centauri.org/vision ) helps coordinate what groups are searching for what Faces of God, and can help groups avoid wasting serum searching for the same face.
Guilds created to help those pursuing the test of visions are:
Please use the Vision Tracker to record where you are looking so that people know where other people are looking to avoid unnecessary competition.
When you find a face, please use all 7 sightings so that the next people to look in that quadrant will have a fresh god. It's very annoying to find a face only to discover that only one person can drink at it.
