The chicken coop is a home for all of your chickens! You may place a maximum of 20 hens and 20 roosters, along with 100 eggs. Chickens eat barley (raw) at rate of 1 barley per real hour (3 Egypt hours) per chicken. Up to 5000 barley may be stashed in the coop. You may also slaughter chickens in the coop to get chickenmeat.
It will report temperature (with a comment based on how hot the coop is based on the time of day) and the configuration of slats. e.g. Chicken Temperature is 20. It is warm for the time of day. The slats are half open.
The slats on the coop may be set at 5 different states from closed to fully open, which affects the temperature inside the coop depending on the time of day (at night, closing the slats keeps heat in while in the day, closing them shades the chickens). You may manipulate the temperature to find optimal conditions for egg laying or hatching. More information on the chickens page.
Built: in a compound, uses 15x17 cells. Compound must be on an at least partially grassy area to permit chickens.
