1. Pull up 5 stones.
2. Count the number of crystals for each given mineral among the five stones (so TC-, KS+, and YM+ would all count towards 'iron'). If you cannot identify the type of mineral of a particular type of crystal, classify it by its color, type, and thickness (TC-, KS+, etc.) instead of its associated mineral.
2a. Bald stones do not count and should be discarded and not counted in the survey. Pull another stone to replace it.
2b. If you ever cannot count all the crystals on a stone, either because they are too crowded or you cannot get a good camera angle, you may pick/discard the stone, not counting it towards the survey. However, you must also discard a stone with the opposite density of crystals that would have otherwise gone towards the survey, even if you can clearly count all the crystals on it.
2c. If you ever pick a stone that is not counted towards the survey, you must not include the picking results either.
3. Pick each stone, recording what comes out of each (including nothing), and summing if necessary.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 three more times, so that you have counted a total of 20 stones towards the survey.
5. Sum the results of each of the four 5-stone pulls together, including picking results.
6. Post the results to the guild mine data page in a format consistent with currently posted results.
7. Once the 20 stone survey is complete, you may add the data from individual stones from the same level of the same mine to the current data, provided that you count more than two stones, and that all stones counted are counted in succession, except when and where provision 2b is used. In other words, don't skew the data by discriminating among the stones that are counted.
