A few thoughts, This provides 5 types of each metal. There are 15 metal types. 15x5=75. 9(colors)x4(patterns)x2(shapes)=72. Which is shy of the required 75... which is why a few crystal types also take into account depth. Maybe? :) I don't beleive we'll see repeats used, but i do think at times we're going to have to distinguish depth or whatever it is that makes those crystals different.
It's not the depths; it's the gem drop patterns. Note though that even within a pattern, you can have pairs of visually undistinguishable ores. (TC+ and YM+, pattern 4, are known examples.) Some of them can't even be distinguished by smelting! (Pattern 3 RB+ can be both Celestine and Tausonite.) -Nefer-Bast
I've added an attachment which is a spreadsheet that has the percentage of concentration of the primary metal in each mineral. It also notes the secondary metal(s) and percentages of concentration. This may or may not be of significance. - Coyan

Q: Wouldn't it just be simpler to list all the clusters that have a certain gem? -Zatarg
