The original test of trust is: http://wiki.atitd.net/tale1/The_Test_Of_Trust

Basic

A good leader knows who can trust and who he cannot. Create a ceremonial vault and give the combination to 14 other competitors. At the beginning of the week, the scholars of the University of Leadership will provide you with a ceremonial coin to lock in your vault. Every day the scholars will assign you a target. You can ask for your target's coin or you can acquire it via other means. Turn in your target's coin for points. As any good leader knows, how you achieve a goal is often more important than if you achieve it. At the end of the week the competitors who have the most points and still have their own coin will have shown they know who they can trust and the rest of will know if they are trustworthy. (The idea is somewhat based on the game assassin)

Details

It should either allow only people who haven't passed to participate or have the reward be soooo good that people will want to pass multiple times (e.g. some super stat bonus for a week or two). IF YOU DON'T LIKE CUTTHROAT TESTS YOU WILL NOT LIKE THIS.

Variables to tweak are number of trustees, number of winners each cycle, and minimum number of participants. Also tweakable are the days/times things occur on and how long each cycle. I'm going to describe it with X trustees, Y minimum participants, Z winners, 1 week cycle, starting on sunday, "days" start at noon eastern. All these are tweakable.

Entry/Setup: 1) Build or get access to a vault 2) Visit a ULead and register your vault and its coordinates 3) Set your combination (but don't lock) 4) Find X trustees who are also registered participants.

Begin Cycle - Setup Period (Noon eastern sunday till Noon eastern monday): 1) Goto ULead and get your ceremonial coin (must already have your trustees) 2) Lock ceremonial coin inside your vault. If you have not locked a ceremonial coin inside your vault by the end of the setup period you are disqualified for the week. 3) If setup period ends and there are not Z participants then there will be no winners that week.

Game On - 5 Daily Cycles - (each day noon to noon): 1) ULead will take list of all participants left and create a complete circle of targets. No one can see this list. 2) Participants can goto ULead at any time and find out who their target is and the coords of the target's vault. 3) If your target is disqualified, you can get a new target from ULead. It will be your target's target. 4) If your vault is opened or torn down by anyone you are disqualified. 5) You can open your own vault and disqualify yourself. You can then take your coin an make an approved mark on it and give it to a person who has you as their target. 6) You can turn in your target's coin at the ULead for a point. (with or without approved mark. It doesn't matter how you get the coin, it doesn't need to be you who opened the vault. Do not ask for a new target after opening vault before turning in coin. Once you get a new target you cannot turn in coin.

The Z Winners are declared (noon eastern saturday) 1) If the number of participants left is less than or equal to the number of possible winners. All participants left win. They do not need any points to win this way. Extra passes are lost. 2) Otherwise the people with the most points win. The number of winners should never increase due to ties. If there are 2 places left and 3 people are tied at that score then none of the 3 win and the 2 passes are lost. 3) For all the winners, their number of points and how many of them were from approved marks are announced. 4) Any participant who did not lock their ceremonial coin in the vault is unregistered from the test and no longer a valid trustee.

Preperation for next cycle: You must replace all trustees who are: -No longer eligible to be a trustee because they are no longer eligible to be a contestant (vault torn down or possibly depending on rules because they just passed) -Trustee has not logged in since last cycle started. You can get one "freebie" cycle off a trustee who is not logging in but thats it.

Notes: -You can change your combination at anytime but you will be disqualified for the current cycle and have to redo the trustees. -Trustees should have a menu option to look at all the combinations they have been entrusted with. They will always be able to be tempted. -You can be a trustee and not really participate. To do this you would need a vault. Register it. Get your own trustees. Every sunday go and get your ceremonial coin and lock it inside and then the next day unlock the coin themselves to disqualify themselves. This will allow them to keep their registered participant status to continue being a trustee. -Instead of a set number of winners and minimum participants, it can also be done that number of winners is a % of the number of participants. If the number of winners is going to be more than like 3 the reward bonus should be scaled based on "place". So the top winner gets a bigger bonus than the 20th. -The names of trustees should be listed on the vaults -The current scores of the Top X plus ties can be asked for at a ULead.
