• Bulbs of the "Prismatic" type were given out as award to the 49 top Gourmands at The Garlic Festival
• Perhaps other bulbs types might have become available, had we opened all Xenobotany sites

Bhoth's results after experimenting with sand blooms

• mutagens used:
  • mutagen 1 = calico, prickly, smelly
  • mutagen 2 = fuzzy, mottled, smelly
  • mutagen 3 = mottled, reticulated, slimy

• Mutation and cross-breeding results
  • Prismatic (left)/ Prismatic (right) + mutagen 1 yielded new blooms Abanti & Shema
    • Trying again yielded same result--not varying, as with crossbreeding
  • Prismatic (left)/ Prismatic (right) + mutagen 2 yielded different new blooms Wardin & Xev, however
  • Bloom Shema (left)/ Bloom Shema (right) + mutagen 1 just yielded bloom Shema again
  • Bloom Abanti (left)/ Bloom Shema (right) + mutagen 1 yields 2 blooms looking just like Prismatic source bulb!
  • Crossbreeding Bloom Abanti (left)/ Bloom Wardin (right) yielded a bloom looking just like Bloom Wardin
  • Crossbreeding Bloom Abanti (left)/ Bloom Xev (right) yielded a bloom looking just like Bloom Abanti
  • Bloom Abanti (left)/ Bloom Shema (right) + mutagen 2 yielded new blooms lunodragon & Rhox, which combine characteristics of Abanti, Shema, Wardin, & Xev, like usual results of crossbreeding
  • However, Bloom Abanti (left)/ Bloom Shema (right) + mutagen 2 = Bloom Wardin (left)/ Bloom Xev (right) + mutagen 1
  • Reversed Bloom Shema (left)/ Bloom Abanti (right) + mutagen 1 yielded a new bloom Sonny, with some new characteristics, though both splint results were the same
  • Reversed Bloom Xev(left)/ Bloom Wardin (right) + mutagen 2 just yielded two more bloom Xev's, however
  • Bloom Shema (left)/ Bloom Abanti (right) + mutagen 2, however, just yielded back blooms Shema & Abanti
  • Prismatic (left)/ Prismatic (right) + mutagen 3 yielded different new blooms Erinwen & Ivy, however
  • Bloom lunodragon (left)/ Bloom Rhox (right) + mutagen 3 yielded another Erinwen on the left, but Priel on the right
  • Bloom Abanti (left)/ Bloom Shema (right) + mutagen 3 yielded different new blooms Beccaj & Corinthine, however, again combining characteristics
  • Bloom Wardin (left)/ Bloom Xev (right) + mutagen 3 yielded different new blooms SunnyOne & Balthazarr, again combining characteristics
  • Bloom Ivy (left)/ Bloom Erinwen (right) + mutagen 3 yielded a new bloom sheree, with some new characteristics, though again both splint results were the same
  • mixing 2 bulbs mutated with a different mutagens (Abanti and Xev) and applying a 3rd mutagen yielded back Beccaj & Balthazarr again, same as when the 3rd mutagen was applied to the unmixed source bulbs

• So, useful applications appear to be:
  • applying a mutagen to 2 Prismatic bulbs
  • applying a different mutagen to 2 Prismatic bulbs
  • applying a new mutagen to 2 bulbs mutated with a initial mutagen
  • reversing the splint direction of 2 mutated bulbs and reapplying the same mutagen (sometimes)

• Still to try:
  • ideas?
    • would be glad to try with any donated mutagens (though time is running out in this Tale…)
    • will give copies of resulting bulbs to donors
