A few macros, the better ones written by other people. For the positioning macro, place the correct number of panes (desired columns * desired rows) in the lower right corner of the screen. They'll all be in the same place in the corner. Start with 2 columns by 2 rows and play with the Xmod and Y Mod to position the panes to fit your macro. Adjust the center delay to give you time to think and remove the very last loop to retain the panes as it will close them too.
