Gaming Report

First of all, we'd like to say congratulations to all the artists, and thanks to the 70 players who came and participated at our event. It was great fun for us to organize this, and we hope it was fun for you too :) Such amazing dresses, so creative. They are impressive!

However, the Events Horus team is rather disappointed. We feel our Gown Contest has been gamed :( Hopefully the top winner, Punkyice, hasn't been touched by this, her dress really deserves this win!

We hadn't planned to do a gaming report, but seeing how some of the votes were cast, we feel we should do this.

We have noticed 3 levels of gaming in this contest. We're going to explain now, without naming anyone.

I love my wife, so I love her dress

This is the first level of gaming. We have noticed that the creator's spouse (or mule) often votes for their soulmate. We aren't condemning this. This is kinda normal. I think we almost all do that, that's human.

This is a guildmate, normally I vote for her!

This is the second level of gaming. One of the artists belongs to a guild, and many members from this guild dropped one personal chit in her chest. Our gown contest wasn't supposed to be based on how big is your guild or how many friends you can get to come vote. It was supposed to be based on the gowns themselves. :(

Our main guild, Horus Tears, is 130 members big. We could have won this contest if our 100 friends voted on a dress entered by a member. Would it be fair? We don't think so.

All I want is my guild to win, I don't care about your event

This is the 3rd level of gaming, and this is how we took it, really. :(

Remember, each voter could vote for 3 gowns. This kind of gaming happened with one gown. The creator belongs to a guild, and several members of this guild dropped one chit in her chest, and that's all. They ONLY voted for one gown, this one. In the 2nd level, the guild members voted for the guild member's gown, but they also voted for others dresses, at least.

This case really pissed us off. We spent DAYS working on this event, all we wanted is for everyone to have fun. We felt it was a lack of respect for our work and towards the other artists and voters who took part. Now we are discouraged. What's the point of running interesting events if they're ruined by a minority of players? Is winning the only important thing?
