A Definition of Theft
It is argued that there can be no theft in Egypt because the game does not allow access to property to people unless they either have ownership or are allowed to. However, it is possible to commit an act which is viewed as theft within the game, such as:
- To remove property from a shared container in violation of the understood practices of that shared container. For example, taking something from a guild chest in violation of the guilds understood resource sharing agreements. Since the agreements for resource sharing are often implied rather than explicitly stated, it would up to the Elders of the guild to determine if theft did in fact take place. Should there not be unanimous agreement among the Elders of a guild, then a simple majority shall be considered sufficient.
- To receive property as part of a trade and give the other party material promised. This is a violation of a "verbal" contract.
This act does not define a punishment for theft, simple strives to define what the act is. Since it does not require any effort on the part of the staff of eGenesis, it shall be considered in effect if it receives 50% or more of the votes cast when it comes to ballot.
