Laws > Mine Placement

Petition by Beth (34 signatures, 3 petitioners) Implementation Status:

Property Rights: Mine Placement

Mines being built next to other players building seems to be a large problem in the land, some people do not have the consideration of others in mind.

Terms to be defined first: A.Buildings mean compound or livestock (not including bee hives) B.For purpose of cords, it is 12 cords from the first cornerstone of the compound.

1. Any mine built within 12 cords of a building owned by another player have the option to be torn down.

2. Mines can only be torn down if the building next to it was built BEFORE the mine.

3. Mines can only be torn down by the player whose building is next to the mine.

4. Any mine built that meets the above criteria can be torn down, even if ownership of the mine has been transferred to another player or guild.

5. The person tearing down the mine can Salvage the mine for the salvage value if they have the salvage skill as payment for the mine being built to close to their building.

6a. Mines are not considered buildings for this law, so any mine built next to another mine can not be torn down.

6b. To prevent abuse of this law, anyone building a compound and then a mine to take over the entire vein, will be banned from making mines in the future. After all veins in a field have been built, you can then build a compound if you should need one there.
