Red Sand

Red sand is a rare substance from which quicksilver is derived. It is found in one place in Egypt:

• Kush with its center around (776, -2966).
• (There was a spot in LE, but it no longer exists.)

Red sand has 1 weight and 1 bulk, and can be gathered directly from the ground like regular sand. This is a notable difference from previous tellings, in which red sand was heavy and required digging to obtain.

Uses

• In a Fleet Furnace, can be smelted into quicksilver.
• Needed to research Basic Chemistry.
• Needed to research The Science of Color.
• In the making of Paint on a pigment laboratory
