- Yendor: OK next test to discuss is Architectural Competition by Balthazarr
- Yendor: This test is the answer to everyone who says that Chartouche is an Architecture test instead of a leadership test
- Hatnofret: wouldn't it have to replace cartouche? or, well, force Teppy to replace cartouche when this is added to architecture?
- Lindie: ya teppy likes his cartouche
- Balthazarr: well i see no reason why teppy would need to kill cartouche
- Lindie: need to tread carefully here
- Yendor: It removes the voting, so progressivly voting people out could remain in leadership
- Balthazarr: it just makes an arch version of the test that has no vote outs
- Hatnofret: if cartouche stays, we'd have two very similar tests
- Lindie: i like that too, but not sure if teppy will
- Balthazarr: it automatically cuts people who fail to bvuild and then cuts of the bottom 1/7th
- Lindie: i like the revised abe test though
- Yendor: I ahte cartouche -- but I would love the ability to build pretty buildings
- Yendor: One of the things I liked in the test -- once you pass, you can continue to build the pretty buildings (one per round)
- Balthazarr: the point being that we get some functional buildings out of it at the back end, rather than just pretty stuff
- Balthazarr: also if teppy makes some nice looking static structure for the early rounds, I could see passed people using them to decorate their areas
- Squiranha: do the building disappear between rounds?
- Balthazarr: nope they stay
- Lindie: what kind of functional
- Yendor: ideas on the wiki are auto-gather on water miines, auto-harvest on greenhouses, ...
- Squiranha: you mean we'll have potentially hundreds of people building up to 7 building every 3 weeks????
- Balthazarr: i see the fuctional building as augmenting existing buildings
- Balthazarr: well each round would have less people
- Lindie: ya curious about one thing though
- Balthazarr: and like cartouches, people do tear down duplicates and smaller ones
- Lindie: once the auto harvester harvested its limit what would happen to it
- Yendor: Cartouche buildings last forever and don't seem to crowded. Of course, less participants
- Squiranha: I like the general idea, but please, after each round everything must disappear, only those you build after passing should stay
- Balthazarr: all of the machines would function a limited amount of uses, and then would stop working, but the option to take would be there
- Yerbouti: really egypt is wayyyy too decorated for my taste
- Balthazarr: well maybe have the first 3 or 5 rounds buildings poof, but the fuctional ones stay
- Squiranha: the difference with cartouche is that a LOT more people would do this, and a LOT more rounds would take place
- Balthazarr: with buildings built after passing staying as well
- Lindie: not sure i would want a auto harvester by my green house that didnt function though
- Yendor: Perhaps the largest (1) is kept, the rest preven eliminting but poofie
- Balthazarr: once a round 6 or 7 building had worn out and you had taken everthing from it, I personally would salvage it
- Squiranha: the auto thing should crumble after reaching the limit
- Lindie: you should get some of your materials back
- Lindie: those buildings are really expensive
- Slyfeind-Hotep: Maybe each round has something useful, but only the last one you build stays. So you'd have a delimma whether to keep competing, or keep what you recently made and bow out.
- Squiranha: ook, not crumble then, but you need to salvage before being able to build it again in another round
- AbesGhost: I really like this idea, and I think the concern over 'accumulation' won't be such a problem because these will be built in camp- not in town, on the road, in high traffic areas- people who live there already have the over accumulation of items problem
- Balthazarr: one thought would be that you would have a limited time to salvage a smaller building in the case of yendors suggestion concerning one of each or after the last item is taken in the case of squiranha idea
- Lindie: it would be good if they could be salvaged at 50% at least
- Balthazarr: /me agress with abe, they would be local lag near people personal CPs... to much lag, take them down
- Squiranha: an increase of salvage % after each progression
- Squiranha: wait, how do you know they'd be local? the useful ones would, but to avoid lag, people would end up building the useless ones far from their camps
- Balthazarr: all of us, should have the opportunity to revise/clean up out suggestions based on this chat and maybe have another discussion later to narrow down the choices
- Balthazarr: where to most people build cartouches now... near their camps
- Slyfeind-Hotep: Would each round be a random building? Or would it always be known beforehand what you're expected to build?
- Balthazarr: yes a random building
- Balthazarr: passed people could pick and choice what they could build as their rewards
- Lindie: i agree, lets the test writers revise their ideas and have one more discussion on this
- Squiranha: Balth, more people would do this than cartouche, especially if the last building s are useful, that would make more people keep buildings to reach the last couple of rounds
- Yendor: OK, looks like we're talking about differnet things; let's finish talking about Archtiecutreal Compettiion
- AbesGhost: can we have a coup d'etas and just put all these into effect replacing the old tired stuff?
- Balthazarr: /me agress with squiranha, there should be a limit to excess buildings
- Hatnofret: it could always say "you already have one at x,y, tear it down first"
- Squiranha: I like the general idea, I'd just prefer if all the buildings disappeared after a round, except for the useufl ones (they'd stay until limit, and then salvaged). And, the reward for passing would be building them permanent
- Lindie: i say we have a coop of chickens too
- Balthazarr: here is a thought... you have one complete cycle to tear down your smaller round 1 to 5 buildings, then they become drrpa-able, your largest building of any kind is protected under normal drrpa rules and you have one cycle to tear down a broken round 6 or 7 building once it is broken
- Squiranha: the round 6 and 7 would be attached to a preexisting building anyway, so it's different. It's all the rest that bothers me
- Balthazarr: merging hatnofrets idea... a message warning you that you already have that building type and after 14 days the small will be salvageable by anyone
- Balthazarr: or just keeping hats idea and only mallowing ONE of each kind of building until you pass
- Yendor: I think one until you pass isgood
- Balthazarr: okie
