Proposed text of Verdant Squill Protection Act

Background: An outbreak of Lung Spore disease has occurred in Egypt. The known cure is a concoction of powdered jade, cabbage juice, and fresh Verdant Squill. To these ends, we citizens of Egypt will protect Verdant Squill from casual destruction, while avoiding a blanket prohibition on the harvesting of this herb that might leave Egypt denuded of any herb except this one.

Due to the public health concerns, request Pharaoh consider expediting a ballot including this law once an adequate number of signatures have been gathered, or place a special ballot with only this law for all citizens to vote upon.

Body of the Law: When examining Verdant Squill (clicking on it), the examining Egyptian shall receive a warning message window stating: "By Order of Pharaoh, be advised: Verdant Squill is known to be a cure for Lung Spore disease and might be critical to an infected person. Please do not disturb this plant unless you understand the effect of your actions." After confirming the message by clicking an "OK" button, the examining player is then free exercise the normal options: to gather, eat from the ground, or mix a cure.

I think as written this might be vetoed. You might post on the forums in the laws section for input. Something more along the lines of "No Egyptian may gather verdant squill or eat it from the ground." would work, although you'd probably need to come up with some sort of mechanism to cancel the law if the plague goes away. Maybe something like, "If three demi-pharaohs inform the scientists at the U of Body that the plague is over, this law is repealed." ~Matk
