Trade

As you enter the dusty shop, you see Matk snoozing behind the counter. The tinkle of the bell on the door wakes him with a start. "Ah, greetings! Our stock varies from day to day, if you're looking for something just ask." Prices in Matk scrip, 1 Matk scrip = 1 Chit: Matk, but mostly looking to trade items on my SELL list for items on my BUY list. Anything not currently in stock I can usually make to order, often immediately. Yes, I both buy and sell charcoal. Also include a list of things I have bought or sold in the past and what I valued them at. I might be convinced to trade small quantities of these items, but you'd better sweeten the pot with some wine.

My mosaic

Projects

From time to time I will take up various projects either casually or in an obsessively hardcore fashion. Here are my current projects in order of interest.

Wine shop - 22 high quality wines in stock, made 15 trades so far!
Find lemon! - Lemon grapes would get me a lot closer to done with that book, and make me very popular.
Medium House - Yeah, I'm gonna need one of these. just need to crank out some mats.
Monumental Towers - Can build two types, New Life and Solid Land.
More fruit trees! - Lining the road near camp with trees.
Marble mania - Quarries planted for all the common marbles, and the 4 highest PER marbles as well. Gonna fill in the rest then quarrying time.
Khefre's Essence production line - Multi-part plan that involves building lots of terrariums, growing lots of cabbage, breeding lots of disposable beetles, mashing them into essence, and selling them for a fat profit. Or using them. Or donating to research. Or putting them in a chest to rot until the end of the telling. Woo-woo! 1! Not sure this is a good way to make $$ fast, hehe. But getting some decent beetles.

Wine

You carefully step down the ancient wooden steps to the wine cellar. The room itself is large and simple, nothing but rough stone walls, packed earth floor and dozens of crude racks filled with bottles. "It's not too pretty, but this room is perfect for the all important aging process.", Matk prattles on, "Within these walls we currently house over 600 bottles and that number grows all the time."

Standard Deviants boasts over 200 distinct vineyards and 20 wine barrels. Matk personally has harvested over 700 batches of grapes, placed the cork in 400 batches of wine, and can regularly reproduce 52 different flavors. Matk is proud to have discovered 5 previously undetected flavors - raisin (mmmm), sweat (ewww), grass (bleh), cassis (a berry!), and mildew (yuk).

Safari, Oysters, & Cicadas

You enter the trophy room and take a seat in a comfortable chair by the blazing fire. Matk pours you a glass of well-aged wine and directs your attention to the stuffed heads over the mantle. You notice:

4 fennec (brown, bushy-tailed, short-haired, furry)

A small gilded cage holds 100 cicadas that chirp soothingly. A shiny gold medallion affixed to the cage indicates that Matk has passed the Test of the Singing Cicada. (Cicada Cage costs so far 4, 4, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 8, 5, 5, 6, 7, 6, 6)

A nearby glass case holds the shells of 50 oysters that once held pearls.

03-26-08: Got a top 14 prize for a 105 db Oxy in the Fishing Competition. 42 people participated.
03-14-08: Logging in every day to tend cocoa, not much more.
02-16-08: Lotsa harvesting cocoa.
02-08-08: Finished 13th in the herb festival with 1177 debens harvested over 3 days! (Top score was like 4500+!) Also got 105 different types.
01-31-08: Let the cocoa harvesting begin!
01-27-08: Crossbreeding fun.
01-22-08: Time to put up a venery, then maybe opticon.
01-18-08: Contributor to size 211 Spire of Sun (second place in the contest!).
01-16-08: Passed Coalitions!
12-30-07: Passed EHT!
12-20-07: Seratet quit, *cry*
12-03-07: Runner-up for EHT! Woo woo! Also planned out some banquet beers.

11-11-07: Oh my god, that derelict EHT is now playable! Now to sit back and wait for my pass :)
11-08-07: Plodding slowly forward with EHT mats. Just need to find White Alabaster and quarry 4 to be done.
10-16-07: 76 cuttable sunstone shaved down into 2 Full Aidenn Masks for the Mega. Also plucked 2 Ra's Lanterns out of the sunstone shavings.
10-07-07: Funerary Temple passes! 531,649 tiles
10-04-07: Back in action. Cutting gems for UE mega and burning tiles for funerary temple. Festivals was too much stress, I dropped that one.
09-18-07: Just haven't felt the burning desire to play last couple weeks.
08-25-07: Went for a run in the desert, found a mondo cicada (22k!) and 5 or so odd weeds (From which I got a total of 1 sand bloom. Which I already had.)
08-22-07: More Geb and Nut madness. Not gonna let that camel meat rot away in the pen!
08-20-07: Gebbing, Nutting, and providing Thoth wines.
08-18-07: From Bot ID 1 to 3 in one day. Lookout odd weeds, here I come.
08-13-07: Passed pathmaker, Student of 7!
08-08-07: Quarrying and gearboxes are my life until the EHT is done. 3 blocks in.
08-05-07: Herb Event - 16 hours of herbing madness. Placed 6th in total number of different herbs (85)! Winners Jezebella and Bobophet (107), my god.
07-30-07: Coalition #2! Will at least pass principle, heh.
07-29-07: Back from vacation. Need to Coalition up and finish beacons.
07-23-07: Passed Life.
07-16-07: Massive wine tasting/bottling operation. New flavors found, but no lemon.
07-11-07: Tending some spicy and tobacco-walnut vineyards.
07-10-07: First coalition over. Put my points in a bag and hope for better outcome next go around.
07-07-07: Passed acro, thanks Daxier! Attended BenAchAton's wedding.
07-01-07: Passed marriage. Scribe of Harmony.
06-21-07: Dealing with festivals rerolls, ug! Need spicy dry banana beer, trying to engineer one.
06-17-07: Passed mosaic!! Also burned 23k tiles in a backed up oven. I'm a slakker.
06-15-07: Been a slug lately. Don't tell Pharaoh I been playing WoW! Big push for beacons this coming week, need 3 more.
06-01-07: 15 towers, BOOM! 31% for the hour. Passed.
05-26-07: Beacon number four, check. Gathering wood.
05-23-07: 4 towers, 20%. One guy did 10 for 27%, heh. There were 31 total, so not a bad total.
05-22-07: Tower prep.

05-16-07: Beacon number three, check. Drinking from aqueduct.
05-13-07: Beacon number two, check. Smoking prolly. Possibly foraging.

04-30-07: A little wine traing, a little grape tending.
04-24-07: Salvage 7! My god, I mutated a huge lily.
04-17-07: Blanketed a couple choice spots with vineyards. Banged out enough flower fert for a few days.
04-16-07: Ground out 3600 silver powder, made 18 mirrors, finished the mutagenics lab, wheeee.
04-15-07: Barrel grinder up.
04-09-07: First trade for the West Side Wine Shop.
04-06-07: Ground out the mats for salvage 7. Just need to get lev 35 for the last turn in and I've maxxed it! (34 now)

03-31-07: Semirhage made me her heir, which pretty much doubled my wealth. I'd rather have Semirhage back in game.
03-23-07: Got my speed up to 468 via ground herbs (insane!!). I caught a 701 deben fish on my first cast. The best catch of the hour or so was 804 deben (see below). It dwarfs the U Body.
03-17-07: Caught two fennecs!
03-15-07: Fennec hunt begins! Need two of the little buggers.
03-12-07: Wheeling and dealing raeli tiles.
03-06-07: Passed bureau!

01-30-07: Put up my bureau! Running it empty to help others get passes, but it looks nice in camp.
01-28-07: Another acro move, cartouche group, tending grapes.
01-24-07: Smoking herb combos like mad, on to 243 fume! 2 acro facets today, shocking.
01-21-07: Modern sheep farm and brick machine up. Long overdue, but just didn't feel the burning need for them.
01-17-07: Walnut/Tobacco wine has been bottled, just prior to the vintage change.
01-15-07: Bureaucrat this round is rockin'!
01-09-07: Aqueduct tower up, veggie growing time.
01-07-07: First big batch of wine turned 9 vintages old! Tons of new flavors for us. Probable tobacco spot! Two harmony passes to boot.

12-30-06: 124 END => 500 dirt, 1260 limestone, 200 cuttable, and 12k thread to linen. In 1h5m.
12-27-06: Hooked up with Life Line, the UE aqueduct project. Grinding materials.
12-25-06: Pharaoh Santa gave me a shiny new waypoint for Christmas!
12-24-06: Tomb up, played 5 times, hurray!

12-14-06: Oyster catcher open, so I have been pearl wrangling.
12-04-06: Tasted 100 wines, got one Overflowing with Grass, Hint of Roses. Grass hasn't been seen before!
12-03-06: The Great Wine Line is bottled! Tomorrow it'll be 1 vintage old and we'll taste em.
11-27-06: This weekend was another big, fun, addictive vigil. Quadrupled my score. May pass before end of days.
11-16-06: Passed cicadas, yay! Slave to the vineyards, for the most part.
11-15-06: Caught a bushy-tailed fennec!
11-14-06: The Great Wine Line project is in full swing. Build a line of vineyards 10 coords apart 1000 coords long. Tending takes about 20 min.
11-05-06: Gathering materials for venery, tomb, mosaic, and bijou.
11-01-06: All 9 wine barrels cooking, built a bunch more. Won a microphone in the werewolf event!
10-30-06: Cobra pit up, enticing cobra vittles inside.
10-29-06: Built an Essence of Harmony! Pretty much solo. Passed Pilgrim - Student of Three.
10-26-06: Successful dig with 2 people 6-7k shovels and 31 END food. A third person on 17 END with iron shovel joined halfway. 274 cuttables, 50 medium in an hour.
10-24-06: Investigating the flavor distribution of wines. Supposedly NOT in 64x64 coord grids, scattered a dozen or so in camp to test.
10-18-06: Hornet's Wing detected! Quarry built! END food cooked! Internet connection lost! *sigh*
10-17-06: Well, only got to lev 21 by my deadline. Distracted by beer and wine.
10-10-06: Tasted about 50 wines, did some good damage to beginner tasting book.
10-09-06: Literally hundreds of bottles of wine socked away for testing the vineyards. Palate upgrade #1!
10-08-06: Passed Prophet - Student of Two
10-05-06: Put up 36 vineyards tonight. Gonna do some insta bottle wines to test flavors (got a few new ones).
10-01-06: 4 different beers including one with a hint of banana! Perception 2!
09-29-06: Need 28 for silk. Goal: Go from 19 to 28 by Oct 15. Few levels will be easy, some will be very tough.
09-28-06: Pathmaker up, and announced!
09-27-06: Got it!
09-26-06: A second huge diamond still eludes me.
09-24-06: Huge diamond! One more for a pathmaker. And OH MY GOD WE GOT A FLAX GIN.
09-17-06: Huge topaz! 318 small, 77 medium, 8 large, then, finally, 1 huge.
09-11-06: Huge ruby! Dessication 2!
09-04-06: First PER point from fumeology! 14k cicada!
08-28-06: Bagged a few cicadas, a rat, and a gazelle. Oh, and a wild beetle.
08-27-06: Fourth raeli oven going up.
08-10-06: Cooked up three more barrel vises for a sweet cooperage setup. Made it public too.
08-09-06: First pilgrimage walk complete. Principle complete, points building.
08-06-06: Placed first cicada cage in a killer spot.
08-05-06: Sheet glass fabrication 7, schwing.
07-28-06: Matk also passes Obelisk.
07-26-06: Seratet passes Test of the Obelisk, becoming a level 14 student of Architecture!
07-25-06: StDev Ceremonial Tasting Table went up and was christened with some sad, thin wines.
07-20-06: Caught a bullfrog! Underneath him was... another bullfrog. Hurray, STR 1!
07-11-06: Built a ceremonial tasting table for Cobra's Venom.
07-10-06: Made my first thermos!
06-25-06: Our little principles vigil that Seratet and I planned just kept going and going. 710 points, sweet.
06-25-06: Phoenix Race - 5! Winners got 5, but we only had 4 different types. DOH! 30 sec from getting number 6.
